Simple approach. You pay for certain amount coupons for tapas + drinks and select from all the shops around. Food is tasty, however staff is slow and you do all the job of serving :) plus not everything can be taken by the coupons which is disappointing :/

Not looking too touristy, affordable food and drinks and most importantly, as this is a number of small "restaurants", you can order different foods from tapas to olives, Iberico hams to croquettas, wok to dessert and ice creams with any drinks that you want in a convivial atmosphere on one hand and cosy secluded tables on the other ! Highly... More

Inauthentic tourist trap over-priced rubbish. We left almost everything as was inedible. VERY rude service to the verge of downright hostile. Save your money and go to the Carrer del Blai instead for a fabulous experience at a quarter of the price.

I was traveling with a group of American high school students-- tough customers, mind you-- and the Mercat Princesa kept all 51 of us happy! Our cooking class included 7 different tapas plus dessert and alcohol-free mojitos. The food was simple to make but delicious and authentic! The three staff who lead the class were friendly, helpful and super fun.... More

We came here on a recommendation. I have never been in this style of tapas restaurant before. In a series of rooms there are kitchens serving a variety of foods. I could not taste from each kitchen, but what I had was superb. The chips with eggs and elvers were fantastic. The anchovies were delightful. The crockets with gorgonzola and... More

Lovely place but the atmosphere wasn't as uplifting as we were expecting from reviews. We shared a Burrito which was really tasty probably the best thing, we then had the 3 cheese croquettes which were good but you wouldn't want very many, we also had the prawn and chicken skewers - chicken didn't seem cooked, and then the chicken strips... Great place to spend some time eating a tapas like food. You by drinks in the bar and then you can by small dishes at different food bars to your liking. You find more than the ordinary Spanish tapas, you can find dumplings and sushi, different skewers, croquettes, scrambled egg dishes and much more. You can eat here quite a... More

We arrived at around 7:30 on a Friday night, it was very quiet, but did liven up around 9 and stayed busy until the early hours. There are food stations around the main hall and near the entrances. We tried about 5 or 6 and on the whole the food was fine, nothing amazing, but not bad value for money... More

This place is so cool! The best way for me to describe it is like a very classy food court. It's basically and indoor market with many different food vendors selling meals. They are very cool and you should make sure to get here!

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
