Suggested by one of the suppliers of food equipment of this restaurant chain. Placed north Rambla Catalunya close to Casa Batllo. Typical touristic restaurant cooking standard Spanish dishes. Good Paella de Pollo con verduritas. Bad french fries: soft (not crunchy) and dipped/soaked with oil.

There is a group of El Glop restaurants and we chose the nearest just up but far away enough from the more expensive La Rambla street were waiters are beginning to get the Parisian flare for rudeness. If mixing with Catalan people while enjoying reasonably priced food is your goal then look no further as many old school patrons stop... More

I like this restaurant, because at very reasonable good price the, extra "bread and tomato", and an excellent quality of the food. The service is very good. I like to go there for lunch. I have seen a lot of visitors having lunch there.

El Glop will not win culinary kudos but it's a nice place to enjoy lunch and a break from a hectic day of shopping or in between seeing the sights of Barcelona. The service is a little slow but attentive and the food is basic but reasonably priced. I enjoyed my Catalonian sausage and fresh salad with a cold glass... More

El Glop was our worst meal during our 10 night stay in Spain and Portugal. There was nothing redeeming about this place and I strongly urge you not to eat here. We had tried to eat somewhere else, but the wait was too long and we wanted to eat outside. To start the night, we gave our name to one... More

On our first evening in Barcelona we walked from our accommodation to find a restaurant, without wishing to reach the main Ramblas area, where we knew the standards are not the best. We settled on an outside table at El Glop, at the top of Rambla a Catalunya. Sadly, it was disappointing. My wife ordered her entrecote "well done", which... More

The Rambla is full of restaurants. Most of whom are, I am sure, of the same standard. Good, wholesome restaurants. Being the northern end of the Rambla it's less of a tourist attraction but nonetheless there are many around....like ourselves. We had the Menu Del Dia expecting good plain fare and ended up with a pretty fine meal. I can... More

We dropped in after a walk looking for locale fare and atmosphere We were impressed and loved our dinner and the outdoor atmosphere The number of local clients attest to the meal and value We each had seafood paella that was wonderful and local wine. Highly recommend.

we came here with family who had booked it and been before. The staff were lovely and welcoming. We choose a selection of starters to share between seven of us and then main meals which we shared out too. We ordered the seafood paella which was lovely and tasty, a lobster in soupy rice (a little under par) a cheese... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
