We stayed five days in Barcelona and El Xampanyet was our favourite restaurant. We ate razors, langustini, scallops and some meat. All was very good. Place is full of people so prepare to stad.Their own cava was also very good .

We live in Andalusia and have become very familiar with good quality and authentic tapas. This is one of the best places I’ve eaten in Spain! Highly recommend. We had the anchovies, bacalao, calamari, tortilla with chorizo and macaroni and two beers each, the price...More

While entering it was immediately obvious that this is a local tapas Valhalla. We went there for lunch and it was packed with locals who where having loud Spanish conversations with each other and the waiters. It was our first lunch in the city so...More

We recently spent four nights in Barcelona. This tapas bar stands out as our favorite venue in a 6-week circum-Med. trip. We were taken there by the cousin of a friend from our New Mexico home. He just kept ordering tapas dishes for us and...More

We happened upon this place by chance which was fabulous! It is a tiny traído al Catalan tapas joint filled almost entirely with locals. I’m sure it’s crowded any time of day but just shove in- it’s worth it. The local cava was divine (I...More

I loved tapas and home made cava with special glasses. The place is not very much known by tourists, quite local. I definetely recommend the place.

El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent
the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But
this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually
enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few
places that live and breathe such exciting energy
regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood
seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the
city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants

It's really small place and really hard to find a place to sit. Most of the people are standing. However I saw couples or friend groups there. If you go early you might find a place.

I don't think that they take reservations. It's more of a first come first served situation. I would strongly recommend to go earlier before they open especially if it's a larger group of people.
