We stumbled over this place just wanting to borrow their restroom, and figured we'd sit down for a beer or two.. The atmosphere was really great, always a lot of people, many locals. The food is great! Simple, high quality! Really nice staff to! We ended up going here for lunch every day of our trip!

We went with my son's family including two grandchildren. We got there late for the kids. Apparently, this is a very popular local tapas restaurant as it was hopping. We ordered a lot of food and when it came, we thought we overdid it. In the end only meatballs and some bread were left over. I enjoyed the white anchovies... More

Proper Tapas. Recommended to us. Arrived 4pm on a Sunday. Very busy. By 520pm had quietened down considerably. Ate well. Very tasty and very good value. House wine excellent.

We took the pimientos del padrón, pulpo y calamar en cebolla (very good!) and 2 gambas. Everything is well prepared and tasty. We took a bottle of Vino turbio, a slightly sweet white wine, very good to have by the seafood. Prices are Ok.

We had to wait very long to get a seat on 2 different occasions. Both times was worth the wait however. Great tapas, especially the seafood. Amazing cuttlefish!

We went here after reading the amazing review but very disappointed with the food. We had the Spanish omelette which is not bad but then we had the croquettes which was alright but the last dish we had, calamari was very bland and chewy. We couldn't even try to finish our food. Very disappointing :(

This restaurant was recommended to me by a chef. It is a bit on the noisy side, but the seafood is great.

Good place to hang out with some friends. Cheap and good eats. The place is easy enough to find. Their menu is in multiple languages and extensive. Service very fast. They accept credit cards.

Went here because it was recommended by two locals. Enjoyed the Tapas, sangria and the flan. A great experience if you want to get out of the touristic sights and just sit and enjoy Barcelona for its culture. Definitely enjoy my time here. I didnt give it a five star only because the calamari was more on the chewie side... More

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
