The terrace is very nice and the Catalan traditional food is amazing. The ambiance is relaxing with a beautiful view to the port.

Wasted money Bad service, the dish of salmon was uncooked with half a potato and some slices of carrot as side-dish. We complained and we received the same plate just heated up in a microwave. Please go somewhere else.

We always have lunch here - usually on our last day in Barcelona. The setting and views of the port are exceptional. The service is spot on, and the food is fresh and delicious. I particularly enjoyed the dorada in salt, and my wife's asparagus in Romeso sauce was also superb.

We had dinner at Emperador on our first night in Barcelona last week on a recommendation from a friend. It was a very wet rainy night so it was not a nice night to view the Marina. When we arrived the waitstaff were not so eager to help us get a table, they were still busy cleaning, however once we... More

I was on a business trip and a couple of my colleagues and I decided to go to la Barceloneta for lunch. The had an amazing paella, high quality. It was the seafood one, it was amazing. The prices are per person, but I think maybe one for two people plus a starter is enough. We also had padron pepper... More

The interior and place is nice and the server was very nice. Unfortunately we were there to eat and the food was terrible. We had a wide selection of dishes since we were a large group and not a single one of us were satisfied with the food. We made complaints but they were neglected. Probably they know tourists are... What a lovey place to eat on a hot day overlooking the boats in the harbour. We were first in the restaurant but that soon changed, the staff were very attentive and the wine was well chilled and very reasonably priced. The paella was delicious, ask for the set menu, they didn't bring it at first, really good value. Would... More

4€ for sparkling water and 4.30€ for 2 rolls and a small bowl of olives. Steer clear of this glorified tourist trap! We were at the mercy of finding a place to sit and escape the heat for a moment. Mediocre food and service at best.

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
