Quite simply a great institution in Barceloneta. Very crowded and not for those claustrophobic people. But the sandwiches are the cheapest and best in the city and be sure to order a bottle of cava.

Given my love of Tapas and food, my son, who lives in Barcelona is always looking out for "special" places to take us when we visit. Other family members had mentioned this place but we'd never been, so this time I insisted he take us. It was everything I love, great simple (and cheap) food, loads to choose from, great... More

I read the reviews on TA and decided to go there. Unfortunately I couldn't see the positive comments they have made. I had been already to similar tapas ..BUT there was looking more like a burger place...not many choices of tapas ..and we can't say we liked it. The opposite. Also was very dirty on the floor and kind of... More

This place is great! I go here every time I'm in Barcelona. The rosat cava is the best on the menu. Priced very well.

You don't half get buffetted around; this place is rammed! However, it's a great experience - brilliant atmosphere, tasty tapas and of course, moorish cava. From memory you have to order food but even if it's just for a quick bite and a glass of something, this place is well worth stopping by.

I reviewed this place on TripAdvisor as it was directly behind our hotel. We looked in Saturday afternoon but seemed too busy. It's closed on Sundays so on the Monday decided we had to try it and oh how we wished we didn't leave it to the last day. We were lucky enough to get a spot right on the... More

Not fine dining by any means but a real must visit. The food is varied yet brilliant, the cava tasty and very affordable Be prepared to shout up to the fantastic bar staff at the bar to make your order as things can get a bit hectic!!

I had Tapas and cava stood at the rammed bar.The drink was their own cava, as far as I could tell three types sweet, medium and dry, and the extensive tapas, plates and sandwhich menu catered for all tastes. The food came quickly and was delicous, the wine was cheap and tasty. Beware though, unusally for Spain it closes at... More

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
