Was recommend this place by a friend because of the cheap tapas and cava. We were not disappointed! A bottle of cava and 5/6 dishes of tapas for around €25. Standing room only though, and looks as though it's always busy but we loved it

Fabulous authentically Spanish Tapas and Cava.. just ask the guy what he recommends and you're guaranteed outstanding food. We bought a bottle of cava and has bucket loads of food and the whole night cost us €30!! Crammed to the rafters but the atmosphere is fantastic. Well worth 5 stars!!

This jewel of a place is right in between Barrio Gotic and the beach. In the heart of old Barcelonetta you will find this authentic cava and tapas bar! You won't come here for a fine dining experience but to indulge in a variety of authentic and simple but very honest tapas / hamburgers a l'España. The menu is in... More

This place is a must do if you're looking to booze with the locals. It's very popular but squeezing yourself around the heaving bar is part of the hustle bustle/lively experience. Note that this bar will not serve you alcohol without you ordering a few plates of tapas. However this definitely wasn't a problem for us as we found that... More

Even if it already lost some of it's local charm atmosphere, it's still one of the best Spanish experiences you can have. An old style Champagne (Cava is the catalan version of it) cave where you can eat little sandwiches and just throw your napkins on the floor. It gets crazy crowded and they take no reservations, just push yourself... More

Had a great lunch here consisting of croquettes, sandwiches, chorizo and lots of pink cava. Great value for money.

If you just want a bite of tapas to accompany a delicious glass of sparkling rose, definitely visit! Kind of crowded so come early to be sure you find a spot. If you are not into loud venues you will not enjoy it a lot, as it is usually crowded. Definitely try the black sausage!

We went in with the idea of a luxurious champagne bar. CORRECTION !! It's a small very friendly bar where you drink the local cava, accompanied by some great bar snacks (not as elaborate as Tapas but vey good. The olives were delicious). You pay by the glass and (coming from an "older" person) they're generally young but it's great... More

Super bar to drink the best cava in town. We had a bottle of 'Rosat semi Sec' and two tapas plates for the amazing price of €12,50. Yeah that's right €12,50, would've paid far more than that for only the bottle of cava. A lot of Spanish locals and a not so modern bar makes it really nice to visit.... More

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
