Strange little place that we found totally by accident. What a stroke of luck! We just managed to squeeze through the crowd at the door and waited with beer and bombas at the bar for a table, only about fifteen minutes later we were seated and then worked our way through clams, cigalas and grilled calamari, all of it perfectly cooked and quickly... The reviews were great and as far as finding the place pretty accurate. We waited about 15 minutes before we were seated and tended to by very friendly and helpful staff. Service was quick. The food had some wonderful flavors, though not much diversity based on the dishes we ordered. Plenty of garlic and oils. We had the La Bomba,... More

The restaurant is certainly a place where locals come to dine. This is a Mom and Pop type place with zero bells and whistles; you come for the food not the fancy restaurant. A little hard to find, in fact the address is 56B and there is no name on the front of the restaurant at all (see photo of... More

This place was recommended to me. It's a hidden treasure in Barceloneta. There's not even a name over the restaurant, but the place is packed with locals. It's nothing fancy...more like eating in your grandmothers kitchen, but the food is delicious and it's served fast.

We had squid, mussels and octopus. I really loved the squid (with parsley). Simple, authentic, delicious! Very crowded and loud, great atmosphere tho.

They serve dinner just couple times per week, so we took a chance to visit them the very first night. Yes, we waited over half an hour to be sitted, yes, the place is not posh nor fancy and finally yes, they serve very simple, but amazing food! Try calimari, fish, gambas and las bombas( believe me, one is far... More

It was a pleasant experience in a Wednesday evening we visited the restaurant on a business occasion. The crab lasagna and baked quail are done to decent details and taste. The wine was served in an opulent decanter. Despite an inexperienced server poured some wine on one of our guests' jacket the remedies are acted very timely and thankfully didn't... More

The sea-food is fresh & very tasty. The restaurant is small and was very crowded at 12:20. Only Spanish speaking people were at the place. The head-waiter was nice but the waiter who served me had an anxious face and seemed troubled to serve a non-spanish-speaker-tourist, althogh I pointed at other people plates, so the language wasn't a problem. This... More

I love the place, the food and the service. The food was delicious we follow waiter's tips☺️ They told us about the history of the place. The genuine walls, tables and bar make the environment amazing! It's the kind of places I never forget and I always come back and recommend☺️

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
