This is THE place for sea food tapas in Barcelona. Not far from the harbor, it has many fresh sea food choices and is the exact opposite of a tourist trap. Super fresh fish, local customers and casual but friendly service - all at bargain prices.

One of those places that time had stopped, like you walking in different era . It was crazy mix of Japanese tourist eating "Bombas" and drinking Coca Cola in one corner and faithful locals ( we got mesa with 7 gentlemen who would come to this place once a month for over 30 years!!) Experience to never forget Food amazing!!... More

An absolute must do if you are looking for true authentic food. We bad to wait about 30 minutes for a table but it was so worth the wait. (And the gave us a free beer while we waited). Excellent food at a reasonable price.

My uncle visited spain a few years ago and came here, now a week ago he brought me here and that was the best season lunch i have ever had. This place is small and traditional, only a couple tables and you can clearly see the bar and the kitchen! Also, everything is vintage, the fridge, the bar, the cutlery!... More

Strange little place that we found totally by accident. What a stroke of luck! We just managed to squeeze through the crowd at the door and waited with beer and bombas at the bar for a table, only about fifteen minutes later we were seated and then worked our way through clams, cigalas and grilled calamari, all of it perfectly cooked and quickly... The reviews were great and as far as finding the place pretty accurate. We waited about 15 minutes before we were seated and tended to by very friendly and helpful staff. Service was quick. The food had some wonderful flavors, though not much diversity based on the dishes we ordered. Plenty of garlic and oils. We had the La Bomba,... More

The restaurant is certainly a place where locals come to dine. This is a Mom and Pop type place with zero bells and whistles; you come for the food not the fancy restaurant. A little hard to find, in fact the address is 56B and there is no name on the front of the restaurant at all (see photo of... More

This place was recommended to me. It's a hidden treasure in Barceloneta. There's not even a name over the restaurant, but the place is packed with locals. It's nothing fancy...more like eating in your grandmothers kitchen, but the food is delicious and it's served fast.

We had squid, mussels and octopus. I really loved the squid (with parsley). Simple, authentic, delicious! Very crowded and loud, great atmosphere tho.

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
