the bomba is a delicious combination of potatoes, meat and sauce prepared in many bars in the Barceloneta's neighborhood. More than 60 years ago the family that owns this bar created this ‘tapa’, which a costumer named ‘bomba’ for its spiciness. It is a place...More

Jeez, this is the real authentic deal. An absolutely fantastic gritty, bustling tapas place in Barcelonetta, a few streets back. If a chef friend hadn't told us about it, we'd never have noticed this place. There's barely a sign. However this old school restaurant bar...More

Not sure why this place has four pound signs on TripAdvisor. It's as cheap as chips. The food is fantastic and the service is no nonsense and friendly. It's very busy so turn up just before peak hours if you don't want to queue. It...More

Traditional, rustic locals haunt. Amazing food. The way tapas should be served. Fresh seafood cooked to perfection. Fab bar directly opposite too and a great market hall in the vacinity.

Breakfast at La Cova Fumada consisted of decanters of vino, multiple orders of bombas and endless amounts of fresh tapas...followed by naps on the beach!

The best gambas as we've ever had!! They are so fresh and sweet, cooked to perfection with just the right amount of saltiness. We also had the squid pan seared with olive oil and garlic, cod and the freshest homemade tomatoes sauce, perfectly fresh and...More

Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area
can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging
over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each
other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing
games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away,
Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line
the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed
sand structures making this the most visited beach in

No reservations for this place... As soon as you arrive you give your name to the waiter... If you go in the weenkend, go early because they close really early. It normally takes arround 20min to get seated. ENJOY!

If you are a small number of people (1 or 2), you won't need a reservation but you might need to stand at a the bar which is quite fun :)
