The drinks are great, the building is old, the paint if falling off the ceiling, the service is simple. This place was hilarious and worth a drink. I love that not a single thing has changed about this place & such history took place among...More

I went to Spain to try new foods, drinks, restaurants, and places. My friends and I ended up coming here 3 nights in a row instead. I’m not sure if we were channeling our inner Hemingway, Gaudi, Dali, and Piccasso, but we definitely were lured...More

Follow the narrow streets off La Rambla to find this little bar where every bottle is still dusted with ghosts from the time Hemingway drank here. Though they serve other drinks, you must have the house absinthe, which the bartenders have readily set up. Grab...More

Amazing bar. The atmosphere is so unbelievable. These walls and bottles have seen Hemingway, Picasso, Dalí and Gaudi to drink absinthe... The ceremony of drinking absinthe is also very magical. We were in a different century for a half an hour.

Beautiful place to have a drink, the way the barman prepared the gin and tonic was magical with a burning stick of Rosemary

Okay okay, I only sought this place out because it was the former hangout of Hemingway, Picasso, Dalí, and Gaudí, but I actually loved the bar as a whole. The entire place is lined with dusty bottles and old time mirrors- so cool to sit...More

This bar looks like it hasn't changed since the 19th Century - the paint on the ceiling is peeling, the curtains had seen better days etc. but this all adds to the charm. They have a full bar but the only thing you should really...More

El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this
gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an
excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic
spots in the entire city. A sense of humble
authenticity protrudes from the many independent
record stores, second hand shops, and student bars
that seem to light up the streets day and night. The
rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day
