Hubby and I dined here last night. Mainly because I was desperate to sit outside, and we were staying very nearby. The chap who served us was nice enough - l think it helped that I had enough Spanish to get by. I ordered four tapas dishes - all perfectly fine - prawns in garlic sauce, calamari, patatas bravas and... More

Our hotel recommended Marzan and we went there. The service and food were horrible there. We asked the price of Paella. It was 24 euros. Overpriced. Since we were not hungry much and just wanted to taste Paella. So we ordered 1 paella, 1 fried squid, 2 sparkling water for two persons. The waiter showed unpleasant facial expression. But he... Picked this restaurant at random after being hoodwinked by the owner on how cheap the paella was. What a mistake to make. The food was average and expensive, paella eur24. I'm sure there are better choices.

This was recommended to us by our hotel for having authentic food for a great price - neither of which is true! We were offered some ham as starter which was nice - but turned out to cost EUR20 for the portion! The paella was ok but again at EUR24 per person it was terribly overpriced. Staff was friendly -... After a day of travel we left our hotel to find a place to eat, unfortunately after 30 mins of wandering around we couldn't find what we were looking for and my wife randomly selected this place. We should have checked the menu first but it is a fish restaurant, not much for a veggie. My wife basically had to... More

Fine dining it's not, but we've just had a very enjoyable meal. We shared the scrambled eggs with wild asparagus and shrimp as a starter and then I had the veal t bone steak served on the hot plate so it keeps on cooking - very tasty. My husband had the pork in a cheese sauce - he cleared his... More

Me and my dad went to Spain for eight days this spring and out of all the food we ate, the food at Marzan was the best. The environment and service were also excellent. We actually stumbled upon it by mistake when looking for another Basque restaurant that ended up being closed for Semana Santa... this was the best mistake... More

We just had a fantastic dinner at Marzan Asador Basco. Our meal started with a shared salad with fresh tuna, lettuce, egg, olives, tomatoes and sweet onions. Then we had Hake fish served two different styles. The wines were delicious, the service excellent. This is our third city in Spain and one of the best, fresh fish, service and overall... More

We came upon this restaurant as we were walking back to our B&B and decided to give it a shot. We were there early and were quickly seated. The waiter translated the fixed price menu for us and was very friendly and helpful. The food was relatively simple, but very good. I had the Huevos Rotas with eels as my... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
