Rubbish, most disappointed. Expensive for what it was. Food poor. Our waiter, Gabriel, was excellent though. No complaints there. Won't be recommending this restaurant to anyone.

I had dinner here on my last night in Girona trusting TA’s good reviews. I am a cod aficionado, so I went for cod cannelloni and salted cod. The food was fantastic and very nicely presented. I was there very early (they open at 8PM)...More

This is a classic both of Girona and traditional Catalan cuisine. Situated right in the heart of the city, at Casa Marieta you'll feel as though you're eating the cooking of the best grandmothers in Girona! You'll (re)discover the flavours of the most traditional home-made...More

A traditional place in Girona. Traditional catalan food, but nothing special. Tables and chairs are old(they don't have even a baby chair) and there's no surprises in the meals and wines. It's correct, neither cheap or expensive. Not a great experience. Not any fault.

Our dinner at CM, intended to be a celebratory ens of vacay dinner, was a flop. The ambiance of CM showed promise, white table cloth, warm lighting, airy spacious dining room, but the promise ended there. All our dishes came out half cold, including the...More

Our cab driver actually took us to the best restaurant in Girona, which happens to be one of the oldest, and one of Dali's favorite dining spots. Casa Marieta had the best duck with pears, Catalan style snails, and grilled squid. The taste of Catalan...More

What a great restaurant. The food was brilliant, our party of 16 picked a vast selection of traditional Spanish food which was well chosen by the staff and well presented. There were many different party sizes (couples to other large parties) but we were always...More

Stumbled across the fabulous find as we avoided the tourist traps in the Plaça de la Independencia. Full of character and locals, we knew as we walked in we made a good choice! We ordered the Monkfish and Solomillo steak, both dishes were delicious. Fish...More

Description
Casa Marieta was founded in 1892, at the same time as the first stage of the modernist movement (the end of the 19th century) and the opening of the old narrow gauge train line between Girona and St. Feliu de Guixols. Ever since, Casa Marieta has offered its customers home cooking based on tradition and a familiar welcome. The Catalan sense of tradition is evident in all the dishes currently on the menu: chicken with crayfish, roast lamb, duck with pears, sepia with peas... All home-made. Restaurant Casa Marieta is located on the emblematic Placa Independencia, in the beautiful city centre of Girona. The cathedral, which has the widest Gothic nave in the world, can be seen from the Square. Crossing the stone bridge over the River Onyar, you enter the heart of the old city which has a historic relationship with the Jewish community: the Jewish Call and Torre Gironella.
