On the plus side, this has a cosy, welcoming decor and that was appreciated on a cold night. The service was also reasonably prompt. On the downside, the prompt service was cold and disapproving of our enquiries about tapas. We did not want a huge meal at 7 pm; we wanted something small but were not trying to get a... More

Cafe de Altamira is a charming, beautiful restaurant with outstanding food at reasonable (by American standards) prices. I felt so lucky that we were able to get in (mostly because we were eating on American time before the rush of Spanish diners arrived). The decor is unique and appealing. The food features the best of the local market. I would... More

I ordered the octopus, fish of the day, and the creme brulee, which I enjoyed with a couple of glasses of a fresh white wine. Everything was delicious, particularly the octopus and creme brulee. The waiters were lovely and very helpful. While this is not the cheapest place you'll find in Santiago de Compostela, but the food, atmosphere, and service... More

A great location off the beaten tourist streets - just opposite the Mercado. Nice service and they even offered the guests Empanadas for free when we where there. Find it -> go there!

The food was delightful and the service impeccable! The restaurants itself is really nice and comfortable and I personally liked the decoration and music in the room. We ordered the salmon and pulpo and we recommend!!

You might not quite like the location (in a busy street on the edge of the market ) but you can always eat in the large interior). We choose to eat outside and watch the (busy!) world go by. For food, I have a suggestion if you want a light lunch of considerable quality. The menu is divided up into... More

We were introduced to this place on a food tour of the town. It certainly justified our guides selection. The menu is not extensive, a good sign, but the quality of ingredients is first class. Certainly stands out from the crowd in terms of presentation and taste. Well worth a try.

Nice decor and friendly service, the food was good but a little overpriced. Even at Santiago prices. It was very nice but not memorable, we wouldn't go again, not because we didn't enjoy the food, but because we have been there and done it and there are more culinary adventures to be discovered in Galicia! Its not what I call... More

We went as a big group and had a preset menu. It included 4 starters and 2 main dishes for each person, plus drinks and dessert of course. Needless to say we ended up sick with so much food. The starters included several sea food, and the main steak and fish. Everything was delicious. Would definitely go there again. The... More
