Went there to get a bowl of the famous fish soup. Mine was not hot, yellowish in colour, and looked like it was not freshly made. Disappointing. The cover charge was € 2.25 included a basket of bread, the soup was € 8.5.

Closed on Sunday and Monday for lunch, but open on Monday night, this restaurant serves mainly seafood dishes. The setting was pleasant with table cloths and linen napkins. Food was good and service was friendly, although the waiter spoke no English and the menu was only in Spanish. We chose an excellent wine to go with our meal. The price... More

A nicely-decorated formal restaurant (linen table cloths etc.) We arrived early (9:00) and found ourselves in mixed tables of US and French tourist groups. Later, Spanish families drifted in, plus a huge group of people in period costumes. In place of bread rolls, each diner receives a small loaf of bread! We had steak in pepper sauce (really good, loved... More

We tried to have dinner at San Clemente but they close on Monday and we were directed to the Carretas which was close by. Lots of locals having tapas in the front but the smart rear restaurant was empty. This concerned me, but needlessly. The starters of asparagus and baby scallops were very good, particularly the latter. The mains of... More

I went with a Group Menu but as I am allergic to seafood they kindly changed the starters for ham, cheese (both spectaculars) and other non-seafood starters. For the second dish they let you choose in a wide variety of meat and fish (even in a group menu). I took a steak that was perfect, I loved it. The dessert... More

With the many wonderful dining choices available in Santiago, I am hard pressed to understand why the concierge at my hotel directed me here when I asked for a recommendation. I am staying at the Parador and they should know better. I will be sharing this review w the concierge desk as well as here on this site. Perhaps both... More

I tried this place after a Fodors recommendation. My Spanish brother in law recommended I try the scallop and barnacles - they were delicious! And so was the desert! A little bit more expensive that others in town but well worth it for the authenticity and freshness.
