Delicious, thick, and full of flavor. Their chocolate is great any time of the day -- and this place never closes! Sit in the cellar, and enjoy chocolate con churros -- a Madrid tradition not to be missed.

This place has been going for 120-130 years for hood reason: The hot chocolate is thick and good and the churros are great with it. On a Saturday or Sunday evening, people are lined up outside both the main location and the annex (right next door). Locals and tourists. Décor is 19th century and an experience in time travel worth... More

First trip to Madrid and wow, Churros :) This place was vibrant and buzzing and a welcome respite on an unusually cold day. If I am honest I found the chocolate to be a little too runny, fine for drinking but slightly messy (particularly if sharing) but the taste was amazing. Great value for the portion size and definitely somewhere... More

This is the most amazing chocolate y churros place in Madrid. There are many other spots for this type of treat - but none better than this one. This is not to be missed! We went twice in one week!

There are not many things as classical in Spain as chocolate con churros and this is the place to have it if you are in Madrid. Open every day, through the whole year, it is always nice to stop by, specially in the cold months.

Its one of those things you feel that you have to do before leaving Madrid, but you really dont. I like churros, but the chocolate was not impressive.

Long queues but not a long delay - the orders were taken very efficiently and people moved through the line quickly. Good value for great chocolate. Recommended!!!

Really nice churros and traditional chocolate. I paid 4 euros for 6 churros and a cup of chocolate which i think us value for money. It was crowded but the service was quick. If the weather allows it, prefer the outside tables, the alley is really nice.

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
