It was very busy and we didn't mind waiting a little. Food was nice, unfortunately mostly cold. Eggs were over cooked but the waiter was happy to change it. We ordered bread 3times but it never materialised... Nice overworked waiters tried to be attentive but had no time to be friendly. Fantastic views in one of the nicest squares in... More

Disappointing food. Would not go back. Menu items not cheap and lacked real tapas experience. Service rapid and helpful.

Enjoyed sharing a selection of tapas with my boyfriend. There was a good variety of options even though I have to have gluten free. It was a good place to visit!

Went there for lunch after a visit at museo do prado and nobody welcomed us, once entered. Small space with 5 waiters and although that, nobody asked us what to order or gave us a menu. After 25' of waiting, we decided to take the menu by ourselves calling for someone to take the order... bad attitude and very bad... More

We decided to opt for this restaurant on a rainy day. We had to wait a lot for a table and probably the staff wasn't able to organize properly the seating and couples were put in tables for 6 people in giving us chance to find space! The food was good and honest for prices in Prado area but the... More

Great location - really close to the Prado. We were hungry and this looked good. The Wait staff was quite curt and unhelpful. Particularly when you are sitting in prime tourist area, one would expect some rudimentary knowledge of English. That said, the food was not bad. They had a couple of vegetarian choices. Particularly, the spicy potatoes is great.

Hungry after a a day at Prado we went for an early dinner of Tapas. The food arrived fast with excellent presentation and imaginative combinations of ingredients all served by an enthusiastic yet linguistically limited English to match our poor Spanish . Alas, portions did not match our hunger and despite ordering more, left us hungry given the alternative of... More

We went there for lunch, it was quite a busy moment but considering it the service was pretty fast. We had tapas meal so I cannot judge the main courses, but the tapas we ate were good! Mushroom croquettes, mussels and tuna were all very tasty. A bit expensive.

Staying in Huertas

Neighbourhood Profile
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighbourhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighbourhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
