Low energy and lacks atmosphere. The food is good but not great. The hours of operations are not very conviniant for foreigners who eat at different at a time than Europeans. They seem to be busy for lunch but empty for dinner. If you do visit try the steak it is very good.

This is definitely the worse service I have ever received in Madrid. We made a reservation for 17 people for a Christmas dinner, a week before we were called and the owner asked us for a deposit since it was such a big table, the next day we did. Then later that same day we were called again and because... More

This place is super reasonable, all teas and coffees come with a bun which is always fresh and tasty at an extrememly cheap price. The best tea I ever tasted in my life here, I would go back to Madrid just to have breakfast there again. The food was a gamble every time we ordered as it was in spanish,... More

Stopped at this restaurant to see what was on the menu, very nice establishment. The maitre d came out and explained all the menu items then made recommendations. The food was delicious and the service great. Everything he recommended was wonderful. Traditional spanish food.

Exceptionally cheap breakfast, eg 4 coffees and 2 toasted croissants with butter and jam, only 5 euros. Doesn't open 'till 09.00 Saturday and Sunday. Nice toilets.

Staying in Chamberi

Neighbourhood Profile
Multi-story residential buildings decorated with ornate balconies line the traditional, quiet, and pretty streets of Chamberí. Humble storefronts and neighbourhood taverns are scattered across the lower levels down every block, and here and there, there's a cluster of tables on the sidewalk. It isn't ever crowded, but people are always out, poking into the tiny bakeries, hardware stores, and tobacco shops, or ducking into a bright, unadorned cerveceria to have a coffee or beer by the bar, flip through the paper, and check the sports score. The round Plaza Olavide, where the fairly regular network of streets breaks form, is among the most green and lively spots. Restaurants line its circumference and sought-after outdoor tables fill the center of the plaza, where people relax to the sounds of kids playing and street musicians' tunes.
