An unassuming door in Madrid's Opera District opens the path to some truly great Italian dishes. Simple dishes, but prepared with great care, let the goodness of the ingredients shine. Perfect service as well, with staff that are friendly, helpful, and clearly very proud of the food they bring to your table. Go easy on the starters, because they are... More

Restaurant closed to Metro of Opera. The service was perfect with the best pizza of Madrid and italian cheese. Need to ask for the chocolate cake and their local wines! I highly recommend this restaurant in terms of food quality, service and prices!

We needed a break from Spanish food and chose this because of its tripadvisor rating and its location near our hotel. We had great pizza, wine and coffee. Service was friendly and helpful. The night we were there some locals had booked it for a large party which I think is a good sign.

Great Italian food with contemporary decor and music. In Madrid for 8 days and ate here four nights, need we say more! Great carpaccio, pesto pasta, and linguine & clams. Entire staff treated us like family & happy to accommodate special food preparation requests.

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
