Very smart little bar offering a little more than the usual tapas. You must try their Vermut cocktail, with its gin spritz and Campari. Each tapa we were offered was a delight for the taste buds (my favourite was the goats cheese and red peppercorn topped crackers). The decor is fun, the staff very smiley and helpful, and the prices... More

Great place and so nice to find a gluten free tapas bar. Loved the Jerez choices too. Friendly staff.

My wife and I are and drank here last night. Being gluten free she had researched on TA and found that La Concha served gluten free tapas, and they sure did. The two servers were both very friendly helpful and patient, they have a Spanish/English gf menu which told us right away that we would be in good hands. We... More

Took my coeliac mum here, and we were provided with menus in our native language, and immediately after mentioning the need for gluten free our menus were changed. The service was excellent. The food was great, cooked to perfection, very tender meats (pork cheeks and beef curry) and quite large portions. The gluten free options of Home made fish balls... More

Again visited La Concha for a pleasant wine and some tapas. Easy to find, good range of wines, beers and food. A great experience.

We went for a eveningwalk and found this tapas and wine bar. Small place, good food and wine, nice customerservice, very reasonable prices. Upstares you can find a bar, downstares they have couple tables. We ordered 3 different tapas, they were bigger than we expected but delicious. Two would have been enough for latenight snack. We recommend this place.

The pork cheeks took a while to come but they were heavenly and they melted in our mouths. The cod cannoli was good as well!

Nice place but we were not amazed with tapas. We read great reviews and decided to try, food was ok but not very tasty.

Small and traditional looking tapas place. If you didn't check beforehand where you are eating, the more you eat, the more you will be amazed. Superb food that surprises, and it's pretty cheap. Service was quite slow, but if you have good time with friends, you don't notice it that much. No wonder the Tripadvisor position.

Good service. Nice vermouth. Shared about 5 tapas dishes with my boyfriend. Most of these were very good but wouldn't call them excellent so not 5 stars. Portions are large so you'll leave full and the prices are very reasonable.

Staying in La Latina

Neighbourhood Profile
La Latina
La Latina is a charming neighbourhood with two unique personalities. At first glance, it’s distinctly old-world, with narrow streets weaving a maze among charming stone buildings in sunny, bright colors like yellow and pink. The other side of La Latina is characterized by a young population and a bohemian vibe, as evidenced by a dynamic and evolving selection of new bars, shops, coworking spaces, and other businesses popping up in the area. In the northern part of the neighbourhood, the Cava Alta and Cava Baja streets constitute the tapas center of Madrid, where each age-old restaurant serves up distinctive specialties like huevos rotos and patatas bravas. Locals have come here for generations to while away hours over drinks and tapas with friends. On Sundays and public holidays, the streets to the south of La Latina metro station transform into a giant open-air market full of locals sifting through tent after tent of art, apparel, and antiques. Any day of the week, the intriguing blend of the traditional and the hip make the streets of La Latina worth exploring.
