This place ended up being a favorite of the evening because a local chatted us up at the bar. It was one of our few encounters with a Madrilleno (I forget the exact word but one who was born and raised in Madrid) during our...More

Went for a late lunch after a visit to Prado which was nearby. It took a while to get the waiter's attention to order. They had menus in english. There were 5 of us and we ordered their combination tapas. They had at least 12...More

The two men working behind the bar were so unwelcoming and unfriendly to us, English-speaking foreigners... specifically Asian and Black. (Had tapas at counter 9/19/17) They would talk to other Spanish-speaking patrons in their language and look at us. Their negative physical moves and facial...More

Las Dolores is my favorite place for a typical Madrid tapas bar. Its ambience, service, drink and food make it a must if you want to experiment Madrid night (or day) life. The place is a little chaotic, but that is part of the experience....More

This is a very well known place in the Chueca area to have a great beer, Vermouth or Wine with a large variety of very tasty tapas. Very traditional and with a very Madrileño style. Recommended for both Spanish and foreigners

We visited at lunch time and the atmosphere was great, the beer sublime and the tapas delicious. A lovely little taberna!

A traditional Tapas bar. Nice beer and a wide selection of Tapas which is constantly being produced. Can get a little crowded during bust times.

Late night dinner with family. Simple tapas with cerveza and refrecos. Jamon baguette, chorizo, olives and salmon tostadas very good.

Nice place for a "caña". It is a typical spanish tapa bar, fast service, nice beer and tapas. It is usually crowded but do not miss the chance of visiting the place.

Nice taberna with good staff. Some tables to eat. It can be full very fast. Nice tapas but a bit fat.

Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once
home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de
Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The
neighbourhood is committed to celebrating its rich
heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes
from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to
them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas
receives a fair amount of spillover from the center —
