Hopefully the best restaurant in Madrid to taste some fine local cuisines. Being suggested by a staff I ordered "Zapatilla" sandwiches and it's just incredible. Hats off to Cafe Melo's.

Melo's is a neat place with good food served quickly. No frills and good products. Authentic spanish dishes: pimenton de padron, morcilla, zapatilla, croquetas <3

Small, authentic, order at bar and sit at tables or small bar, incredible croquettes, cheap, really really great, loud and fun. Don't miss it!

Every Spaniard I met boasted about their mum's croquetas and ranked them as the best in the world... But every Spaniard I met in this packed-to-the-brim café admitted Melo's croquetas were done just as the ones they remembered from their childhood. The ones you no...More

We arrived just before 9 pm and this place was already getting crowded. We ordered the morcilla, zapatilla, and croquetas, and we were not disappointed! It's great for a casual meal and typical Spanish experience. Also, it was very reasonably priced for all of the...More

Walking into this neighbourhood is like entering a
different country ... except it's hard to tell which
one it is. One side of Calle Lavapiés is lined with
Indian restaurants, the other with kebab shops. Men in
traditional African clothing convene outside their
businesses for long chats, and people shout to each
other across plazas and streets. Interspersed among
ethnic specialty shops are independent theaters and
