Normally I do not eat champions. Except this one what I found here only. The combined taste of mushroom, meat, spices and olive oil is simply delicious. Together with traditional green roasted peppers and a glass of wine makes this tapas stay unforgotten. A crowd of people forms a true tapas-bar feeling. Service is friendly and fast.

I think they may be one of the best things I have ever eaten. I loved the peppers, too. But I will be dreaming of mushrooms until I can go back and have them again!!!

This is a must-stop. Grab a pitcher of sangria, some mushroom tapas and some pimientos de Padrón! They are all amazing! The best little tourist trap in Madrid. Enjoy.

Hidden gem. The mushrooms are to die for. Delicious. They will show you the "proper" way to eat them. Going back again tonight!

Best mushrooms in town. Great wine, other tapas. Such a funky small space, with old coots playing the organ, ceramic mushrooms on the wall. Excellent service. A must go for tapa hopping!

Very crowded location but well worth a visit. Get there early to be seated (6 to 630p). We saw two different piano/organ players the night we were there (a Friday) Friendly and attentive staff and great mushroom tapas?

First of all, they are open for dinner. This was one of the best dining experiences I've had in Europe ever! The menu is limited, but they definitely follow the "know thy self" moto. In other words, they do mushrooms right! Not to mention them peppers. The jamon, queso, and olives are pretty standard. Basically better than what you get... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
