Recommended by the chef of Atempo Weekend Bistrot, Archena. The restaurant room is fantastic, great atmosphere. Food was interesting, a mix bag. wanted the sharing menu but it was off and in its place Disfruta Del Mar en Totodos Tus Sentidos, sea food surrounded by pictures of the sea by artist Cristobal Pérez. Every course was "al curry" but we... More
Seriously bad food with fine dining prices. It's almost like they thought 'well we have a magnificent place so why bother with the cuisine'. Very dissapointing experience. They even refused to give us a glass of tap water ! Gives mediterranean food a bad name.
The stater was a few lettuce leaves drenched in animal fat and 3 segments of orange - inedible. The other starter, the 'prawn tart' was an over fried, thin bit of batter with prawn flavouring - disgusting! The rabbit and snail paella was equally utterly disgusting: inedible rabbit (skin and bone), undercooked rice, no saffron, large pieces of burnt garlic,... More
The Real Casino restaurant has, as my mother used to say, aspirations of grandeur. And it was built to be grand, back in the day. Casino’s of this type are not the gambling kind but more a social space and they were built from the early 1800s onwards in Spain. Originally more of a private club for the rich and... More
I went with my two sisters for lunch here at the beginning of September, we had the €25 per person tasting menu, we were not disappointed, different small dishes were brought at intervals, served by very attentive professional waiters. We started with seaweed bread, homemade mackerel pate, tomato, anchovy and feta salad, chocolate chilli mousse, homemade croquettes, they then brought... More
An excellent menu traditional. 4 courses. Beautifully presented and great food. Only thing l would change was the main course. It was a great murcian beef stew but served with french fries! Should have been small or sliced new potatoes. The setting is superb. All this for only 18 euros a head, .
We visited the old casino and were surprised with the interior. And the tearoom with the mirro tables was wow! The restaurant is also decoraties with this tables. We had a 5 course dinner with mozzarella with sangriainduction, salad with confit of tuna, soft poached egg with mushrooms and thin sliced optaties, filet of beef with Hollandaise sauce, and mousse... The tasting menu is 38 € but it is not really tasteful or good and the portions are way to big. The cheeses were not interesting. The meat dry. Nothing was bad but not really good either. The fish was OK but I could hardly eat a bite when that dish was served. The kitchen seams to want to impress,... More
