When this place first opened several years ago it was a welcome breath of fresh air amongst the greasy take out places in the neighborhood. Good coffee, very tasty cabinet food and awesome sweets and baking. Since new owners bought it out pretty much everything has dropped several levels. The owners are friendly, hard working and competent. But they don't... More

Great service and delicious coffee but not many vegetarian options, unfortunately. =( My hubby loves the cabinet options so we visit often but I usually don't buy food as there aren't many vegetarian options. The cakes are tastey though...

Great food & great coffee in an old gas station. A selection of pastry & savories to help keep you going. Coffee by Bella the barista is excellent. Plenty of parking off street is a definite plus.

It doesn't look like much but well worth the visit. We had a home made pie and the eggs. Seriously delicious! The coffee is really nice too :)

Best cream and jam doughnuts ever. This cafe is a hidden gem! The food is brilliant, and the staff are all really friendly, offering great service. Pretty quirky cafe, with loads of character. A must if you like good cafe food!

Hubbie and I were getting lost in Avondale, not our usual patch. Couldn't find anywhere to stop for brunch - except the usual suspects of Maccers, etc. So I checked Trip Advisor on my phone app - and hello, up pops Salvation Kitchen. It sort of looks like an op shop from outside, hence we drove straight past. However, we... More

After the disappointment of finding out the other bakery I was going to visit on Rosebank Rd had closed down I was driving aimlessly through Avondale, and ended up doing a u-turn for Salvation Kitchen as I drove past it. As another reviewer said, don't judge the book by its cover. I got myself and hubby a steak'n'cheese and chicken'corn... More

We have been going here regularly for a couple of years now. Their coffee is excellent, as are their prize winning donuts. Their brunch menu is short and simple, but they have a number of good counter foods. Highly recommend their pies particularly the fish as well as the mince and cheese. The decor is retro, relaxed and quirky.Over the... More
