The very windy evening forced us to have dinner inside the restaurant even if we had an aperitif in the splendid external courtyard, but despite this we still liked the small internal room, characteristic and simply furnished. The staff is informal and very helpful (considering that our child made the evening quite lively). We had dinner tasting the typical products of Matera, the cheese platter (one better than the other), the salads and legumes... all very good. We ordered a bottle of a 2020 Primitivo local red "Monacello", which was exceptional. At the end of the meal we were offered some typical dry sweets. Simply perfect experience!

We went to Conzato both for a drink after dinner and for lunch the next day: in both cases it was an exceptional experience. Extreme professionalism, preparation and kindness on the part of the staff, top quality food, drinks and desserts (with an eye on local cuisine) and a simply unique location. Special mention to Angelo, who had the patience to explain every single dish to us. Thanks again, we hope to return soon!

Lunch. A place that breathes the simplicity of its origins but has been able to exalt its values with humility and awareness. Exceptional food: slowfood and km0 raw materials, treated as the original cuisine requires but revisited by the experience of the chef who knows how to present them with good taste! Fantastic ‘unrestaurant’! Angelo was an amazing host. My son and I came in for a drink and his patio for the food they serve tempted us to try a few appetisers. They were all delicious, even the specialty peppers that Angelo gave us on the house to try! A lot of care has gone into the selection of ingredients, everything was fresh and the olives, olive oil, and cherry tomatoes were out of this world. Would highly recommend. There was another lovely waiter there that was very helpful and had a welcoming smile the whole time while greeting and serving people. Amazing food and service, highly recommend

Best food in Italy! Must go if in Matera Italy

This is by far the best restaurant experience for me in the whole Italy. Angelo and Fabio treated us like family- they suggested their best recommendations. The food was absolutely amazing!!!! They served us with their homemade soups and then a delicious pasta afterward. They spoiled us with a taster of their perfectly wood oven grilled lamb chops. And don’t even get me started with the desert and the digestive liqueur at the end. All in all, if you go to Matera (Sissi) Italy and don’t visit this restaurant you are missing out!

The little place is truly a Matera gem and is located in the center of the stones, under the road. The guys are super nice and professional, even though they don't take reservations they advised us to come back earlier than expected to be sure of being able to sit. The evening was really pleasant, between the concert and the dishes we tasted. The mixed platter of cured meats and cheeses shocked us with the goodness and delicacy of the raw materials (the blue-veined goat's cheese was sensational). The flagship is the legume soup, typical of Matera: an incredible flavour, prepared just like at home. Two glasses of prosecco, a nocino and the characteristic zest closed an unforgettable dinner. More than reasonable bill, around €75. I loved it!
