We dined on the night of the Festival of St Andrew, so our meal was accompanied by music from the square and fireworks. We started with the raw fish appetizer for two( see photos). We shared the pasta Genovese( traditional specialty of the house) and...then finished with the sea bream special. I drank a local white wine blend from Ravello. We were out on the terrace which was enclosed and had heaters. Staff was exceptionally helpful and attentive. We watched the young pastry chef work thru out the meal in her glass enclosed part of the kitchen. A wonderful meal for our last night in Amalfi.More

It was our return visit since 2018. Our experience was so good that we wanted to return to experience the same. Quality of everything declined and when I asked if the chef changed, we were told that they have new chef since 2021. I don’t...want to hurt the business and if you liked what you had, that is good. Just wanted to share with you that it is no longer the Da Gemma we knew. We followed the former chef, and went to his new place, Terraza Duomo, with beautiful view of the Duomo, food was soooo good just like that ones we used to enjoy at the Da Gemma.More

Our last night in Amalfi we decided to take it up a notch. The restaurant overlooks the main street and as this was a special dinner I stopped in early to confirm our reservation. Rosario informed me that because there were three of us, we...could not sit on the edge of the terrace as the cold air required them to drop the clear plastic wind breaks. When we arrived later for dinner he had rearraigned the entire terrace seating to accommodate our request! The rest of our dinner was nothing left to be desired. The service was first class and the food over the top! The chef is wonderful with a flair for the unique. If you are looking for a five star restaurant in Amalfi this is it! The value is well worth the little extra you may pay! We will return next year!More

We attended dinner outside on the patio - arrived an hour early hungry after walking the streets all afternoon. They seated us with no issues, 15 mins prior to the restaurant even opening for the evening. English being our only language created a little bit...of a language barrier with our waiter. Food overall was very good, we ordered starters, first and second courses. Next time should be more explicit that the starters can come out prior to the first course. Would recommend - beautiful evening.More

Was there October 14, 2021 for late dinner. Ordered a glass of Amalfi red wine which was not good. Then had appetizer of pumpkin and mushrooms- very tasty. For entrees we had the lamb which was delicious and a pasta dish. While we enjoyed the...ambiance and food, our waiter was inattentive, unfriendly and basically ignored us. Never said a word to us though he spoke some English. Ruined the experience while we spent 100EMore

What is is about these review sites that makes many contributors think they have Michelin Star grade authority, or that anybody really cares about their long winded nonsense. I’ve read too many damaging reviews to know better, and a quick, honest review is probably all...anybody requires, to go or not to go? Well, in a nutshell, GO! This is a superb restaurant, off the main public street (well actually with a harder to find but perfect location looking down over it ) and, wait for it, with the best, most attentive service we have had in Amalfi. So good we booked again for the next day. I’m really not sure that anybody being negative about the service went to this same restaurant. The food was extremely tasty, Caprese salad, beef carpaccio, Nonna’s pasta, beef fillet, lemon dessert ( I’m not going into detail because I’m not Gordon Ramsay, but you’ll be more than delighted with any of these dishes ) and we were offered tasters and sorbets In between, with a glass of limoncello to round off ( we also had a half bottle of the house red which was great ) If you can get a table on the terrace overlooking the street then do so, but the food, the attention to detail and the service would make any table location in this gem of a place worthwhile. As for the moaners, there palates ( and wallets ) are most likely better suited to McDonald’s. Our bill was just over 50 euros a head, which we felt was terrific value.More

A beautiful restaurant with beautiful food. We couldn't get a table out on the terrace, which looks spectacular, but inside was pretty good, too. We had the pasta genovese and the lamb and the beef—all excellent! Unfortunately the service lets the chef down. We waited...a long, long time for our bottle of wine and most of the waiters were quite cold toward us. A pity because the food and the decor are superb.More

This Typical and storic tavern located in the centre of Amalfi has a beautiful terrace where you can have a quite and romantic dinner during the summer period. We had the chance to taste the famous fried ‘Alici’ and parmigiana with mozzarella for starter and...the fish fruit risotto for main dish, an extraordinary taste experience! Seems like a star restaurant, high price level but very high quality.More

Deliciously fresh seafood and excellent service. We had a prime table on the patio overlooking the frenetic street scene below. The pasta and clams were perfetto and the wine list was extensive. We always enjoy Da Gemma when in Amalfi.
