Yum, and very attentive service. It's odd how some staff don't bother to learn other languages when working specifically to cater to tourists. There are some delicious food highlights. The shared antipasto is a big hit. Then go for pistachio sauce on pasta

Food was really good and the waiter patiently explained in beautiful English anything we asked about. The atmosphere is great with a mix of locals and tourists and the food from Sicily is very well done. We will definitely visit next time we are in Rome. Go before the old waiters retire!!!

To savour Sicily without going there! Fish, vegetabes & pistachios are the cornerstone of this fine restaurant. We've frequented for years and are never dissappointed. Last night we ate zucchini & swordfish and caponata as appetizers, divided 4 ways a plate of spaghetti, fresh alici and pistacchios. Then moved on to a wonderfully flavourful sea bass filet with pistacchio. Finished... More

We enjoyed a memorable meal here and found it to be the best place we ate in our week in Rome. The food was really excellent - very much Sicilian, unpretentious and well cooked with care and attention to detail. The menu and the flavours were great. The two hosts and owners are front of house and made us feel... More

So you are in trastevere and you want to escape the bloody tourists- of course you are one too but who cares! You can ant an authentic place, you want to show the wife you did a bit of research, well here you go. Very friendly owner brothers- one knows wine, the other knows food. What a team. Great food... Visited whilst on holiday in Rome. Local restaurant with a nice feel to the place. Fresh tasty pasta and serving mainly fish dishes. The menu is only in Italian but our waiter spoke English and was very helpful in making recommendations. Overall a nice place.

This is a real gem near the parks on the West side of Trastevere - authentic, simple, full-flavour Sicilian food. Try the capponata (which they serve warm) or any of the pastas that they serve. It's not on a busy street, but it's probably better for it (and you will probably see the owner running the business there).

Very good food. I never had Sicilian food before. Very flavorful. I need to visit the island on my next trip. I had the pasta with swordfish, eggplant, artichokes, tomatoes and mint. Sort of like our flavorful southwest cuisine but with an Italian flair.

Staying in Trastevere in Rome, recommended by a local. One of my daughter's a veggi, rest of us NO! So for a fish restaurant very accommodating, friendly & sense of humour from staff. Food great, wine too, not too pricey, great night in all.

Been there today: the food was very well prepared and delicious, the service was friendly, the owner was coming to greet us and the atmosphere is nice. All in all a very pleasant experience and to be recommended.

Staying in Monteverde

Neighbourhood Profile
Above the city on the Janiculum hill, Monteverde is Rome’s popular "getaway" neighbourhood, coveted for its greenery. Rome's largest urban park, Villa Pamphili, is the area's centrepiece with affordable prices and peace and quiet. Monteverde is just far enough away from the centre to feel like you’re on a Roman holiday and close enough to feel the lure of Rome's chaos. Though its downside is the lack of scheduled public transport, this family-oriented area is literally a well-deserved walk in the park.
