An unimposing exterior, we were a little apprehensive when we entered an empty restaurant but that soon changed. The decor is nothing special but the welcome and the food are. Just a chalkboard menu which the chef read to us in Italian and English. When...More

I visited this "trattoria" two times and each was different. The first time i got to taste the very best lasagna i have ever eaten (the one with zuchini flowers) and the best spicy pastas. The second time tasted tartufatta and carbonara, both completely bland......More

We had an excellent time experiencing the nice atmosphere, the genuine Roman food and happy staff on that restaurant. Try the antipasto called "Tortino di ceci con crema di Pecorino" and the main "Saltimbocca", they are very good. The frequency is manly by locals.

Dar Bruttone is definitely an authentic place that is mainly frequented by locals from the neighbourhood. But the food was only average in our opinion. The Carbonara was quite good but nothing special and the other items we ordered, like the Tortellini al Brodo had...More

We popped in on our way back to put hotel. Despite the fact that they were not quite open they were happy to serve us and happy to accomodate my food intolerance. Really good food, good prices and great atmosphere.

Been here twice in two days. Great authentic Roman specialties but somewhat limited menu selection, all good. Many locals, few tourist. Typical Roman specialties. Sometimes they have things not yet on menu - just ask. Service very friendly - chef came out to greet us.

What a brilliant place. Food and service all so good. My group had such a nice evening with the chef personally talking us through the menu in English. Well worth a trip to the Re Di roma for an evening meal!

Been for dinner...the location is on the main road, but car noise does not disturb too much if the evening is on a weekday. Portions are not huge but well prepared. Service is warm and friendly.

What a nice find. The service was great, the enthusiastic presentation of the menu for us was great (we only speak English). The food was simple but well prepared and tasty. Came out very quick but still nice Oso buco and fettuccine Ragu. The tiramisu...More

We went there because the manager of our hotel recommended the place. We booked a table from the previous day and expected something really good. But actually it was nothing different then the other restaurants in the area. Service was good, food was good, but...More
