We came here after reading the reviews. It was overpriced, salty food (almost inedible) and we were overcharged (probably because the waiter didn't realise I spoke Italian). Very pushy staff that kept trying to get us to order more food. The best part about this meal was the mozzarella and tomato for the starter. Wouldn't visit again.

Our airbnb host suggested this restaurant as a "locals only" place, reserved us a table and sent us on our way. She was absolutely right! An amazing dinner in an absolutely nice setting. One of the best carbonara i've ever had. Starting with a fried antipasto and ending with a coffee granita made by them, everything was wonderful. Will definitely... More

I first ate here in July with my parents. I liked it so much I came back when I visited Rome again with my friends. The owner is very friendly and funny and he made it a great experience for us. The food was delicious and they kept bringing us more. And the prices were also very reasonable. I definitely... More

On a recent trip to Rome, we discovered Ragno D’Oro Osteria by accident. We give this family-owned restaurant 5 stars for its consistently delicious food (the best we had on our trip) and delightful atmosphere. We ate at this restaurant 3 times during our 10 day stay. We tried other recommended restaurants but always returned to this one. In our... More

We are here 10 years ago and were happy to return and find the dining experience as good as we had remembered. The gnocchi, carbonara, grilled shrimp and stuffed calamari were all very good. Service was excellent and included a complimentary limoncello after the meal. Still family run and we met the same family members who were there 10 years... More

It's difficult to travel solo in this world. Too many places just tolerate the lone diner, especially. Tonight was a good example of this at Il Ragno d'Oro. I knew immediately when I arrived the staff wasn't interested in serving one person on a busy Friday night. I was finally given a small table at the entrance to the restaurant.... More

We found this place by chance after a morning visit to the Vatican and a little stroll around the neighbourhoods close by. And we were extremely happy we did - the food was excellent! We got the spaghetti carbonara, white lasagna and "mum's gnocchi", followed by lamb with potatoes and the sirloin steak. Everything was perfect and the place had... More

While on vacation we ate at several restaurants and this was the best by far.The service was excellent, the food was delicious and the wait staff treated us like family and made our dinning experience fun. I actually went two days in a row because the food was so good. The starters were good, seafood pasta was to die for,... More

Have been to this place twice, and experienced both times excellent service and authentic Italian food.

Staying in Prati

Neighbourhood Profile
Just steps away from the chaos of the centre, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighbouring Borgo, Prati is a local favourite for its aesthetic organisation and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
