I had scampi risotto which consisted of one full intact prawn, and a bowl of rice. My husband had sea bass which was served whole, very small fish but he said it was tasty. Potatoes hard and not cooked, very plain salad, very large bill for not a lot, would not recommend.

We went here because it was nearby the hotel and my friend wanted to go. I ordered some soup, which was very blan. She ordered pasta, which looked like it had been sitting out for quite awhile, and didn't taste as if it had been freshly cooked, but maybe reheated. They put a bread charge on our bill (pano), which... More

My hubby had the worst Risotto ever in his life - I had a bite and couldn't swallow. The rice was half raw, the mushroom is straight from cans and couldn't be bothered to drain properly - very sour. No source pretty much - uneatable. My veal was not bad - tender and the source was good. I guess the... More

Went as a party of four with friends. Neat little basement restaurant with very nice staff. We tried a variety of traditional Italian dishes which were well prepared and delicious. Prices were reasonable mid-range and good value. Recommend for a very casual dinner when you want more than pizza.

I go to this restaurant every time I ma in Rome. Salvatore (Sam) the owner is extremely nice, the food is great. They have excellent home made house wine and lemoncello. Get the Bucatini!

Huge disappointment. Regretting that we entered this place. Too expensive, very bad food and not the best service.

We stumbled upon this restaurant just walking around Rome. Antonio stopped us on the street promising a good meal with the guarantee if we didn't like it we wouldn't have to pay AND free Limoncello. Sam was a wonderful waiter. We didn't just have a meal but a dining experience. We visited again the night before leaving Rome. It was... More

The staff was very friendly and quick. Sadly the quality of the meals, was very poor. The Steak was well done -> nobody ask if I want it this way, it was not very tasty and poor quality of the meat also. The Escalopes were dry and tough. The risotto wasn't good as well, the rice was very hard. As... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
