Sometimes because of the way the day unfolds, waiting until 8:00 or later to eat does not work, but it is a challenge to find places that serve dinner earlier. The Merulana Cafe is a spot where you can show up at 7:00 (or even earlier) and not be treated as if you are committing a crime! The staff was... More

On our family's first visit to Rome, and we're staying near the Manzoni metro station, so we decided to check out Merulana Cafe for dinner. Ambiance...9 Service...10 Food...out of this world! A fantastic balance of traditional Italian food (I had the cacio e pepe, my wife the lasagna) along with international fare (kids had burgers) We will try to stop... More

I have eaten at the Cafe Merulana countless times when in Rome - over the course of four years on three different trips, and it has never let me down. It is a great place to stop for dinner and drinks, and to wind down at the end of the day. I left my glasses on the table at least... More

This place was lovely. Great food, great staff, great prices. Ate here twice on a 4 day vacation and can't say better. The pasta was tasty and authentic, the coffee and wine were beautiful, and even though they didn't speak great English the staff tried and did well. Would recommend to anyone.

Neighborhood atmosphere and friendly. There were several local people eating their casual dinners there and we listened to a table of six Irish priests drink their Guinness after no doubt visiting St. John Lateran. No tourists. The next night, after nearly five weeks in Italy, we decided to have our first non-pasta, non-pizza casual dinner out and really enjoyed the... More

We found this little gem after having spent the first couple of days eating pizza and pasta, which was definitely enjoyable but we had a yearning for something different and we weren't disappointed. It is located near St John Laterans, quite close to our accommodation unlike a lot of places in Rome it is also great to go into for... More

Ran across this gem on our way to St John Lateran. The food is very good and got to top it off with a good pint of Guinness!

After a 7 days visit to Rome we needed a meal just before leaving to the airport. Food was very good and service quick and with a smile. If I would live in Rome I would go there for a meal or quick snack. Interior and toilets are nice and clean

We had lunch here today for all under $40.00, great value burgers for $10.00 each and a wide range of drinks to choose from.
