We came upon this restaurant by accident. It was late and they had an opening outside. It was a quiet piazza. The food was excellent. We shared a pasta and a fish dish and both were excellent. The service had warmth and we had a...More

Food was bad, tasteless and stale. Service was rude. They pretended not to understand my native Italian and of course their English was conveniently sketchy. An America woman next to us was struggling with staff also trying to let them know (in both decent Italian...More

Have been here a number of times over the last few years and this last visit was disappointing. Service still friendly, but food has gone downhill. The buffalo caprese was regular mozzarella without very good flavour and the tomatoes were not what you'd expect of...More

Found this place by accident but glad we did. The team were really friendly and helpful. They do have menus with English on them. Food was tasty and reasonably priced. Not in a tourist area so that made it nicer.

It's very nice to go with friends; Classic Roman's restaurant; a lot of starters are presented, also very good pizzas; friendly service and good prices; outside tables.

Our office is jut two steps from Piazza Margana so we are regular customers. It is true that the waiters can sometimes seem a little off-hand, but they are kind at heart. The food is excellent - their fried artichoke is excellent (crunchy and light),...More

In the hearth of ancient Rome, in a small corner of the old capital is a place almost hidden, rocked by the streets of a Rome of the past but still forever where one feels the most authentic Roman “La taverna degli amici” was born so , quiet, away from the daily noise, where the scents and smells capture attention to the Roman walks in the streets between the Capitol, the Teatro Marcello and the Ghetto. The simple yet refined cuisine, tasty but not heavy, offers a unique opportunity to pass moments in which taste and beauty come together in the customer’s Taverna with fresh dishes and not binding at ‘sign of the oldest and most famous Roman tradition.
