We had dinner here with our family one evening and absolutely loved it. I'm a bit shocked by the other reviews about the service. Our waiter was superb. One of the nicest we met in Rome. He was very welcoming, funny and accommodating. He even offered doing meals that were not on the menu as they had ran out of... More

Had a wonderful dinner and excellent service. I had minestrone soup with beans and my friend had the grilled steak and potatoes which was cooked just right and was very tender. Eli, our server, was attentive and friendly.

You can do better in Rome. Our server acted like we were an inconvenience to him. Take your business elsewhere.

We ate here last week and the restaurant was obviously overwhelmed. I think there was only one server for the entire restaurant and I'm guessing only 1 cook since the food took forever to arrive at our table. The food was ok, but I probably wouldn't go here again.

We walked around a hotel area and decided to eat a pizza. Unfortunately, we chose this place. We've waited a pizza for almost 40 minutes! I did not want to leave a tip, but it was included in the bill by defaul. Btw, 20% of the order.

Our family of four dined here on our last night in Rome as it was a few doors down from our hotel. The night was so pleasant we dined outside on the patio. The food was absolutely great and the evening ended on a perfect note as we were serenaded by an accordion player and violinist as we were finishing... More

It was pretty obvious from when we were given a different menu to everyone else that we weren't welcome! I asked about the menu of the day, which was being served to numerous locals around us and look wonderful... But they said it's not for us. When I repeated his words back to him, he relented and gave it to... More

We came across this restaurant by accident and we really enjoyed our evening. The food was very good and freshly prepared. At first the service was a bit slow but improved as the meal progressed. At he end we had the pleasure of meeting the proprietor who was very welcoming. He even organised for us to have some grounded coffee... More

Had dinner here before going to Opera in St Pauls Behind the Walls Church; waiter helped us with saving money on Prosecco by having bottle rather than 3 glasses and was helpful with menu;

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
