Reading the many reviews of foreign visitors, I feel like laughing a bit. Not only don't they understand the whole concept of this place, but I find hard to believe that they get how good the food really is. I am Italian living abroad, and the food here is honestly amazing. The "ambience" is absolutely normal at these latitudes. You... More

Felt rushed. Was told that we could only have gnocchi and then once our meal arrived we noticed others had various different types of pasta. We are unsure whether this was due to us being tourists and not understanding the language however we will not be visiting this small restaurant again.

I was looking for a restaurant near the hotel and after hours of research, decided to give it a go. So, here it goes: As the others have said, the staff of this tiny family restaurants are fantastic. Very helpful and friendly. The place is small, but charming. We had no reservation, but they squeezed us in. At the end,... More

Went to the restaurant early without a reservation and managed to get a table, albeit with a time limit. My friends and I ordered pastas and main dishes to share and we thoroughly enjoyed the food. The calamari is worth special mention, with the squid gently cooked to perfection, blending perfectly with the pea and potato mash it was served... More

We had a dinner with friends at this family restaurant, food was very good particularly the deep fried artichokes "Carciofi alla Giudia". The service is what I expected in a Hosteria, easy and friendly. If you planning to have both water and wine, do not bother asking for two glasses as you will only get one.

This is the typical Roman restaurant, you won't get any closer than that! Family run, they cook evwrything fresh and seasonal, be ready: the do not speak much English! If you are into artichokes, make sure to order carciofo alla giudia as starter: it's a mouth watering deep fried artichoke... Yummyyyyy!!! And go check at the beginning of the street... More

I wanted to take my colleague from South Africa to taste the real roman cuisine, but not in a central tourist trap. My father in law arranged at da Settimio. Memories of lunch with my grandfather and the extended family at the neighbourhood osteria immediately came to my mind. Food is just good and origianal, and so are the characters... More

I was suggested this place by an Italian colleague because he discovered it by change. The place is a typical Italian/Roman restaurant. Petite, traditional, family-run and with an amazing hand for food. Oh my god, I can only say that all the things I tried, I was delighted by them: fantastic choice of antipasti and gorgeous pasta dishes. If you... More

We enjoyed a delicious meal at this restaurant. The food was not fancy but very tasty and excellent value. Wine, drinks, prime and second were really well priced and the gnocchi was excellent. The gnocchi is only available on Thursdays so beware that each day not all items are available. We do not speak Italian but this was not a... More
