Been an Italian expat in London sometimes i crave for some really good pasta. That's why whenever I'm home my mom takes me to the best restaurants in Rome so that I can try in those couple of days all the best dishes. When I came back in January place was so full we couldn't go, this time we had... More

I've been to Da Felice many times, the first being 13 years ago when it was still a very popular but nevertheless a hole in the wall. It was fantastic then. And its unpretentious environment was its charm. The cacio e Pepe is still delicious as is its abaccio con patate al forno but this time we didn't even make... More

Worth the special trip just for the Cacio Pepe, which is finished at the table. Italians are very particular about pasta, here it was cooked perfectly and a big crowd confirms Felice is a much loved institution. An easy 10 minute walk from Pyramide metro station. For a lunch time visit, get in before the locals turn up at 1pm.

I come to Roma every 6 months and have tried for 2 years to get in here. Let's see....the food is good, very fresh ingredients. However, I constantly felt RUSHED in this restaurant, like they needed to turn this table over quickly. I hadn't finished my starter and they cleared everything away. The waiter told us we couldn't order wine... More

Felice could be a wonderful spot. The food is really quite exceptional, but the experience is not. The restaurant itself is not very large, and it is very successful which means crowded. Your reservation is just a guideline - as they may or may not be able to seat you when you arrive. The night we were there, it was... More

I first tried this simple pasta dish a few years ago in a small town in Tuscany. Have had a few over the years in Italy, some hits and misses (mostly), but took the long subway ride here as the NYT had recommended this restaurant for this particular dish. My main advice: do make a reservation! I was here on... More

Established already in 1936 "Felice" is an almost historic restaurant in Rome`s Testaccio district, between the old city wall and the Tiber river, nearby Porta S. Paolo and Piramide Cestia and Ponte Subliaco. Known for ist oldfashioned authentic Roman cuisine, the Restaurant has been restored since ist early days however still touching back to the roaring 30-ies. The food follows... More

A friend living in Rome brought us to Felice for a traditional Roman dinner...we were not disappointed. The menu options were very good for all courses and there were many off menu special options as well. Our waiter, Alexis, was very knowledgeable and spoke English well...which was helpful due to dietary restrictions in our group which were accommodated well. We... More

My wife had to meet someone for a drink in testaccio the other night, so we made an early dinner reservation here. ONLY tourists eat in Rome at 7:30 but we arrived to an almost full house, so we knew we were in trouble. Pasta is the specialty. I ordered carbonara, my favorite, and my wife, cacio e Pepe. The... Staying in Testaccio

Neighbourhood Profile
Put the house music on replay and you have Testaccio, an ancient Roman port and former working class neighbourhood where the bass is set to high almost every night of the week. Its collection of discoteche (nightclubs), street parties, and crowded restaurants give it its well-deserved party reputation. During the daytime, Testaccio is more easy listening than club hit, the area is full of locally owned small businesses and has one of the city's larger produce markets.
