Our first night in Rome and we wanted something to eat and the person outside said all pasta was hand made so in we went. The food was okay, it was a basic pasta dish and it was hot, but where was the salt, peppar, parmesan cheese. We ordered a drink but the drinks were barely chilled, warm lager and... More

This was our third visit to FB. The owner and the staff are always very friendly and helpful. The breakfast area had been updated and had some nice additions to the menu. Our room was in need of a bit of refreshing but met our needs. The location is perfect. 0verall, I think you will be pleased if you stay... More

On our way to Piazza di Spagna we spotted the outdoor tables of Bar Ristorante La Fontanella Borghese. As it was lunch time we sat down and ordered sandwiches and drinks. Again it was a real Italian sit-down with the small piazza (Largo in Italian, more a widening of the street) as outdoor living room. As the sandwiches were delicious,... More

It's relatively budget, but it is great! I have stayed at this hotel and its sdister, the DueTorre, a couple of times, and I am going to stay there again next April. It's well located, at the foot of the Via Condotti, and everywhere is walkable from here. The Vatican, Piazza d'Espagna... Close to get restaurants too... Great service too... More

Great meal, excellent service, highly recomended. Prices are very reasonable considering the very central location . We had bucatini alla matriciana and cacio e pepe done with homemade pasta. Both Excellent !!!

We had a great evening at the restaurant. it was enjoyable to sit back and let the owner suggest the dishes. Had the tastiest truffle pasta dish ever. Now i understand the attraction of truffles. i had them a few times before, but they were by comparison lacking flavour. We had a sea bass baked in salt. Not normally a... More

Yes, Virginia, you can go home!. Returned to La Fontanella after an 18 year absence and while it now it is owned by Bruno, the food and the atmpsphere is as good as we remember. Had a great lunch there under Bruno's tutelage. We hope we do not have to wait another 18 years to go back. Try it, uncomplicated... More

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighbourhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighbourhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (21:00), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
