I will do this in english, even though Im norwegian😉 I came to this place when I parked the car in trastevere, not allways easy. And Ive gone there a couple of times. Its much cheaper than most tourist restaurants in the area, and the food is good, tried chicken and rabbit? Pollo e coniglio con patate. Had some good... More

Pasta was good. Chicken okay. Prices fair. I won't go back. Meat not good. Salad not what you'd expect in Italy. Family said it was alright. I didn't expect much atmosphere but it was largely overrated on TripAdvisor.

We stopped at this restaurant after a walk around the trastevere district as we saw many locals eating here. Family-run business offers different dishes for different days of the week. Saturday no lassagna but wonderful ravioli. If you abide by the rules and understand them you are going to have a wonderful experience.

Get there early as the restaurant opens for dinner at 8pm and queues form quickly. The cuisine is simple and with no fuss on presentation as the flavors speak for itself. On certain days of the week speciality dishes are available but run out fast due to their demand. My wife had rigatoni pasta simple with fresh basil in a... More

Was recommended by our landlord as a traditional roman eatery. There were certainly no frills inside, but this was compensated by a warm atmosphere and smiling staff. The menu was fairly basic (suggesting freshly cooked meals to me) and was in Italian and English. We arrived at 8pm and we're seated straight away, but within minutes there were at least... More

You eat what they have the day you visit, but don't let it stop you from going. The food is fresh and true to Roman cuisine. They open promptly at 8 for dinner,so queue up a few minutes before to get a table. Really delicious food.

Da Augusto offers typical tasty Italian food in a simple local. The place opens at 20.00 and You must be there at least fifteen minutes befors to be sure of getting a table altthough it´s open until 23.00. We had pasta of the day as a starter, a lovely ravioli with tomato sauce and as main dish we ate roasted... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
