It doesn't get any more Italian than this, unbelievably charming. The food is home-made, well-tasting and truest representative of the Italian cuisine. The menu changes and you can't get everything every day, do note this. The food is simple but fresh and with ingredients of the highest quality. Go here!

It might take a while to get a table, the line can be long but its all worth the wait. The owners are amazing, so kind and funny. This is nor a fancy place but the food is great, the atmosphere so wonderful and if you really want to get the feeling of coming home to an italian family -... More

Just a deceiving cantine where you can't chose your food (depending on the day you are in the Resto). Only very simple rigatoni were available for us.

We had a light lunch at this place. The bean soup was very good, although not the best. The pasta with meat sauce was nice as well. Artichoke was delicious. Ambiance: a crowded Roman trattoria, which can be fun if you don't mind sitting very close to other diners (which we didn't). The crowd was huge and the staff was... More

Old and wonderful trattoria with simple, yet delicious dishes and wine. Paper table clothes, shared tables and a family atmosphere.

Excellent old recipes food, very simple and cozy ambience. It remember me the authentic restaurant I could find 50 years ago. Taste and genuine food, more than reasonable price and exquisite serving. Frank

Its much cheaper than most tourist restaurants in the area, and the food is good, tried chicken and rabbit? Pollo e coniglio con patate. Had some good... More

Pasta was good. Chicken okay. Prices fair. I won't go back. Meat not good. Salad not what you'd expect in Italy. Family said it was alright. I didn't expect much atmosphere but it was largely overrated on TripAdvisor.

We stopped at this restaurant after a walk around the trastevere district as we saw many locals eating here. Family-run business offers different dishes for different days of the week. Saturday no lassagna but wonderful ravioli. If you abide by the rules and understand them you are going to have a wonderful experience.

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
