Our hotel recommended we eat here for my father in laws 70th birthday meal which was the main reason behind our trip to Rome. Our Reception called in the restaurant Manager as we were checking in and a bottle of Prosecco was promised if we ate at the restaurant so all sounded great. We visited the restaurant the following night.... More

We went to this place because it was very close to our hotel and the menu looked good. The waiter who served us made no effort to make us feel welcome, or to make us feel at all special. The steak my husband had was delicious, but he would have liked to be told what vegetables were available, other than... More

Since 2002 we have been dining at the Ristorante da Nazzareno whenever we are in Rome, and we have taken friends there. The menu offers a good range of dishes, the food and the service are consistently of a very high standard, and the prices are very reasonable. It's always a pleasure to eat there. And the quality table linen... More

We chanced upon this restaurant en route from Assisi with little time to spare before taking our train to the airport. A happy find. Good authentic local food, charming and prompt service. I was espeially pleased to see the care a waiter took to help a local elderly person make sure that they enjoyed their meal, even cuting up the... More

It's my preferred place for a meal in short times when I am near the Termini railway station. Quality is good, service is fast and price is convenient.

We spent 2 weeks in Italy in September 2016. This was the best meal and service we received on the whole trip. I simply cannot say enough about this ristorante, the service, the food, was wonderful. One staff member recommended our whole meal, even to showing me how to twist pasta on the plate!!!

My family and I ate here for 3 nights. We really liked the atmosphere in the restaurant and the boss is really friendly to guests. The best meal that I ate was "minestrone"soup. I also liked carbonara. Disserts were also delicious. We have eaten tiramisu and sacher cake. The portions are enough to eat good, medium sizes... Prices are a... More

The food is flawless. Perfect food, perfect beverages, perfect service, perfect ambiance. The place is just perfect. Very close to Termini Station, around 3 minutes walking. It really gives you the essence of Rome, authentic and genuine Italian restaurant. Very good value for money too. The Tiramisu is a must try, the pastas are all by the book with an... More

We are vegetarian and so had a limited taste of the menu. We actually didn't need to go further. We went there almost every night for a week and never tired of this dish. We had the simplest one - spaghetti al pomodoro - just pasta with tomato sauce. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was delicious. I... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
