As I am sure this place used to be better tony bourdain may have ruined it. Not nearly the place for a good cacio e Pepe however the abbachio scotaditta was very good. Wine and family in this lovely piazza made for a great experience.

Sooooo being avid travel channel viewers, we too wanted to endulge in "sublime" pasta ... specifically Cacio e Pepe. We took a taxi and the neighborhood seemed cute until it arrived in front of a restaurant. I checked and double checked address and we ate here. The restaurant was cute and service impeccable! The pasta was ok... it was too... More

Nice local food but the serve is too small for average serve. We arrived 5 minutes early and have to wait outside ( not allowed to sit outside where our table booking is) considering one of our family has disability to walk and standing too long

Awesome! Absolutely the best Ceccio e Peppe. Wonderful bottle of wine and a beautiful setting. Definitely worth searching for. Make a special trip for this one!

i just found out about the anthony bourdain visit. rule 1, never take advice from an arrogant potty mouth ex addict. capice? their house specialty of caccio e pepe was way too salty and cheesey. thrRomans did not eat this dish in this manner. my wife had parpardelle with artichokes she was dissappointed to find that the artichokes werent fresh.... We had dinner here with family and friends on a Saturday night. We had the famous Cacio e Pepe pasta and fried zucchini flowers for starters and the pasta alone is worth coming for. We had more expensive wine with a vino nobile Montepulciano as well as a Nebbiolo both good and well worth the extra money. We also had... More

A hidden gem that has received a lot of publicity over the last few years is this restaurant. The address in Tripadvisor is entirely wrong so please correct it. It is on the Piazza di Santa Cecelia in Trastavere to the West and across the river from ancient Rome. I think the reviews are 50-50 but you have to expect... More

My husband wanted to eat here after reading a review in The Guardian which named it as a top ten place to eat in Rome. It took us two attempts to secure a table, so if you do want to try it book ahead, but then again why bother trying it? A surly waiter "greeted" us and plonked us down... More

Mariana took great care of my wife and I.Very friendly, warm & friendly service. Off the beaten path but worth the effort. Neighborhood atmosphere, Quality food at a very good value. Mariana would not take no to her offer for a free limoncello - but in a very gentle teasing way - she won! For service where you feel they... More

My wife and I ate in this restaurant on our last night in Rome. It was to be a special night out to bid farewell to the beautiful city. The meal began auspiciously with glasses of good Prosecco and starters of prosciutto and mozzarella. However, it all went very wrong with the main courses. We both ordered filetto (filet of... More

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighbourhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighbourhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (21:00), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
