Had a lovely meal on our last night in Rome. Went full steam with three courses. The Roman style artichoke was melt in the mouth. Thank you will return in May

Great location near Pantheon, outdoor area perfect for warmer months. Indoor dining space is more cramped, less charming. Classic menu, Food is good not great. If you are lucky enough to sit outside, balance is right. Inside, just ok space with just good enough food makes for a less special evening.

On our final afternoon in Rome we ate ate Osteria del Sostegno. Tucked in a little alleyway this cozy restaurant was buzzing, filled with more Italians than foreigners for a change. The menu filled with fantastic choices. We started with the artichoke, walnut and avocado salad followed by an absolutely delectable funghi tagliolini, melanzane alls parmigiana and finally the roasted... More

We already knew about this restaurant but had no reservation and stumbled on the actual location last week while staying in Rome for Christmas. It was late in the day, maybe past 3:00pm, but they took us in. Once we got situated, we ordered their house red by the glass and of course it was lovely. Then we saw that... More

We ate here twice for dinner recently and everything was delicious both times. We ordered some amazing delicious salads, interesting combination of textures and flavors. My favorite was fresh (raw) very thinly sliced artichokes with avocados, walnuts and a lemony vinaigrette. I also ordered the carbonara both visits, as I found it to be better than any I have tried... More

We ended up in this small alley almost by chance and we stumbled into a true gem in the heart of the city. It is a quite small place and reserved almost completely for dinner, so better to show up early if you didn't reserve. The atmosfere is romantic and rustic. The food is amazing and the service quite attentive.... More

The place was suggested to us. We went on our first night in rome. Really small place. Not great flavours. Not value for money. Service dissapointed. Kept asking if we were finished. Not expected at all.

Food is superb. Place is small so reservations are necessary. Couple of blocks from Pantheon. Best steak and Tiramisu I have ever had. House red wine is great.

We have not done as well in general in Rome as in Florence. Osteria del Sostegno is the exception. Everything was excellent. We ordered a modestly priced Montepulciano Marina Cvetic 2013 which was terrific. Their house wine is also a Montepulciano which is probably good as well. Our meals were wonderful. Maria had Bruscetta with Olive tapenade that was wonderful.... More

In an alleyway to a backstreet around a bend from the pantheon, that's where the romans eat these days. And it's pretty good! Not cheap ... but good!

Staying in Colonna

Neighbourhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very centre of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping centre, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
