We wondered around the neighbourhood near our AirBnB for a while and decided to stop in here for dinner. We were greeted by a brash waiter who quickly escorted us to our table, and brought us our menus. He then seemed visibly disappointed when we ordered just a €3 water for the table to drink, and repeatedly asked us if... More

We visited here on holiday and were shocked by the quality of the food and the honesty of the waiters. We ordered pizzas which were burnt and worth considerably less than what we were charged. While we waited for our food we also had the pleasure of wafting flies out of our wine glasses and scraping dirt off our cutlery.... More

A group of friends and I went to this quaint authentic looking Italian restaurant. We were greater by the waiter, when we ordered bottled water he was rude and condescending that we didn't purchase the outlandishly priced house wine. The food was poor at best, greasy pizza served by an even greasier waiter. When it became time for the bill... More

Decided to have dinner here with a few friends. The drinks were over priced and the waiter spoke very little English. The pasta and the pizza were both bad, over cooked, and clearly store bought. When we asked for the bill he over charged us and gave us no paper bill. We questioned the waiter about the charge and he... More

Average food but the service and the absurd "table charge" is a joke. The waiter brought complimentary dishes which he then charged for and refused to take back or refund. Do not visit.

Stumbled across this place on a wander round the area - had a really lovely friendly welcome from the waiter who didn't mind when I stumbled over my basic Italian! The food was lovely - the homemade tiramisu was to die for... and two courses each with a large glass of wine, a beer and a bottle of mineral water... More

My wife and I dropped in one night. Looking for a simple meal after a long day of walking. It was wonderful. Friendly staff. Simple but delicious foods. It was like returning to your an old family restaurant! You are made to feel at home. Amazing, simple pasta dishes. Local wines. The best surprise of all, was both meals with... More

We were looking for a restaurant near our hotel for an evening meal and stumbled across this place - what a find. The staff were friendly and the food was excellent. We loved the antipasti (mmm, artichokes) and the pizza was some of the best we had in Italy. We were the only British tourists there and felt like we'd... More

We came here as the restaurant opposite, which was recommended by our hotel, was full. You go down the steps into the beautiful restaurant which is clean with a welcoming atmosphere. Staff were friendly and polite. The pizzas we had were very tasty and cooked with fresh ingredients. 7Euros for a pizza is very good value indeed. Would recommend.

We ate here on three nights. The place is clean, simple, tasteful and very friendly. And the food is delicious - not only the pizzas. The proprietor is a lovely man, friendly and courteous, and the people working there all reflect his charm. The bread and olives at the start come free; also the biscuits and limoncello at the end.... More

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
