To have access to Canova's atelier that now houses sculpture from many artists is a huge wow. Walking through the space feels like you have time traveled to the 19th century. We came solely for a cappuccino and a cornetto and because it was a lovely morning, we took our breakfast at a table outside. Of course you will pay... More

The walls and shelves are filled with dusty plaster casts of works by Canova, One good seismic shock and there would be some serious injuries. The food was not up to what it should have been, alas.

We visited Canova Tadolini on evening of 3rd May. Pleasant meal for 6 people. When Bill presented we tried to pay by credit card, but was told that they did not have internet so could not take cards... we paid with cash. Visited again on 5th May enjoyed a very nice meal for 4 people. A very pleasant waitress from... More

After a very good meal we produced credit cards to pay to be told that their internet was down and they would only take cash! This had been the case for three days. We were directed to the atm outside but that would have incurred extra charges. THEY SHOULD HAVE TOLD US WHEN WE SAT DOWN!!! A pleasant evening spoilt!!!

We just went for a cup of coffee and tea. Without seeing the menu otherwise we would have realised that they serve probably golden tea. The outside menu showes you coffe 1,20 euro. Be carefull also these prices are only if you stay in the bar. See small note on the board.

I greatly enjoy a coffee break in this Café. It is just that little bit "off the beaten track" that one can find a seat and enjoy the unique ambient. Sitting outdoors is great for watching people, indoors art is everywhere - please do not miss exploring the rooms upstairs. The cakes change daily and it is fun to try... More

You are really here for the Art, and I love every minute of it. For me, this is a tradition when in Rome. The plasters of both Tadolini and his mentor Canova showcase the process of sculpture in the 1800's so inspiring.

Neighbourhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighbourhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina.
