We stumbled upon this place and are so glad we we found it. My wife has celiac disease so finding a gluten free option is paramount for us. We ate a good lunch and had nice wine. Nothing "out of this world" but all good...More

Getting a decent Bistecca Fiorentina in Rome is not trivial, Maxela is a good finding. Although the place was almost empty, we got an excellent Tagliatelle al ragu', the Fiorentina was grilled to perfection and the quality of the steak was very high. The atmosphere...More

We had a good evening here, the service was friendly (unlike in some of the other comments) and efficient - the wine list is good and we had a spectacular red to go with the steak Fiorentina, neither of which were outrageously expensive.

Went to Maxela for lunch when we couldnt get into Maccherroni, the pasta (pappardelle) was perfecto and the chicken was very good as well, couple nice glasses of wine and all good. Going back to get pappardelle before we leave

A superb restaurant just north of Pantheon, tucked away from crowds. Impressive range of steaks, which you can view and choose before cooking. The staff were really helpful and explained the portion sizes, so we "shared" three courses including an amazingly well seasoned and perfectly...More

Navona / Pantheon / Campo de’ Fiori
With three of Rome’s most beloved piazzas within a
five-minute walk of each other, the
Navona/Pantheon/Campo area may be the prettiest and
most picturesque area of the city. Join the beautiful
throngs hanging out in cafes, boutiques, art
galleries, and wine bars, or peek at a neighbourhood
museum or monument. If you want nonstop movida, the
streets here are busy with chic bicyclists and Vespa
