We had lunch at this restaurant during our trip to Rome. We sat outside which was a mistake as the wind can fairly whip down thus street. We really only wanted a snack as we were booked for dinner that evening. We made choices which...we were persuaded against as they were only small, so we both chose the Bucatini Mancini all Amatriciana. Which was very nice but made us too dull to enjoy our evening meal. We probably shoukd have left when our original choice was negated.More

We were lucky to get a seat as we were fairly early (around 6.30pm). They were full from 8pm. We tried the cod with artichokes (delicious); pork and purple potatoes (very tender and tasty) and pizze fojje which turned out to be a stir fried...vegetable with crispy bits 😃 also yummy. A great meal, attentive service.More

Restaurant near Vatican. Had a very nice dinner there. They try to upsell you on dishes but not too aggressive. Had nice pasta. €43 for two (1 main each, charcuterie to begin, bread, water, coffee). Sitting in the back is quieter. Cards accepted.

Visited as a group of 7 which included 2 young children, we waited for a while for a table to be available however we were invited to sit at the bar and have a drink whilst we waited. The service was outstanding and the food...perfect.More

Came for lunch and it was lovely. We sat inside since the patio was full, but they have a great glass ceiling so you still felt a bit of the outdoors. The menu is all daily specials and despite being in Italian the servers explained...each dish to us in English! Food was great- we got a tasting of cheese to start and I got the orrichette Ragu. Great wine selection as well. This is a nice not so touristy spot within 10 min from St. Peter’s Square.More

Marco, the bartender, was amazing! Thank you for the exceptional service! He gave us his recommendations on food and drinks which never disappointed and kept our drink coming! The wine, whiskey, Paloma’s, margaritas and food were all delicious! The food was fresh and the drinks...were strong and tasty! This spot was full of locals but us tourist we’re still welcomed with open arms!More

Our recent dining experience at Il Sorpasso was a total nightmare. The ambiance was under all expectations and our troubles began when our waitress approached our table. She seemed disinterested and detached, barely acknowledging our presence. On top of that the waitress spilled red wine...on one of us and showed no concern (she came back and said "Now I have seen your friend completely naked"). No discount was offered for the ruined outfit or the humiliation our guest had endured. The dishes were overpriced for their mediocre quality, and it was evident that the kitchen staff lacked any semblance of culinary talent or passion. In conclusion, my experience at Il Sorpasso was an absolute disaster. The total lack of professionalism displayed by the waitress who drenched our guest in red wine and the subsequent lack of any effort to make amends or compensate for the embarrassment was utterly appalling. I would strongly advise anyone considering dining at this establishment to think twice and choose a more reputable restaurant instead.More

Recommended by our tour guide, we decided to seek it out. Small, local, lively, delicious food and superb wait staff makes this a memorable place. The pasta & pesto is flavorful and I didn't want my meal to end. Wait staff is friendly, attentive, knowledgeable...and quick. Food is fresh, authentic and flavorful. Don't miss an opportunity to dine here!More

We were drawn to this restaurant because of its stellar reviews, and we weren’t disappointed. The service was truly outstanding. Our waiter, Silvia, went above and beyond, translating the menu into English and patiently answering all our questions with a warm smile. We indulged in...a wine, a platter, and three daily specials – each dish was nothing short of exceptional. This was hands down the best food and service we had in Rome. Whether for aperitivo, lunch, or dinner, this place is a must-visit. Kudos to the team, and keep up the splendid work!More

Food here is amazing. We came here on a family holiday and wanted to take in proper authentic Italian food and this place offered just that. On a very busy night we were squeezed in which was much appreciated. The gentleman serving us even translated...the menu for us which again was very kind and helpful. The food was exceptional. Potion sizes were the perfect size. Dessert was also first class. If you are in Italy I would 100% recommendMore

rudest people i’ve encountered in Italy. We came with three people while they were no where near busy. I politely asked for a table and was told to wait in a corner while she set a table in the sun despite majority of the tables...under the patio were set and available. After 10min of her not setting the table and sitting two new groups after us. We asked a different waiter who then again told us to wait while he checked. After 15minutes of being ignored we left. Horrible.More
