This is a familiar traditional italian restaurant, I had dinner twice in this place. we had pizza and pasta here: spaghetti with mussels and shrimps, carbonara, lasagne and pizza. The amout of lasagne was poor, the wine of the house is also good. Having the small car with all the desserts that the customers can choose is a good ideia.

Wine poor, pudding poor and tasteless and main mediocre. Also no machine for payment by card! I had hoped for much more from what seemed like a family run restaurant.

Although the menu displayed outside were told that the service is included in the end our bill was charged 3 euro for it. Food acceptable, but quite expensive...

We always like to eat at local restaurants, and this seemed fine on the outside, family run, large menu. Their house red was good at €6 a bottle. That was the only good aspect. After initially taking our order, they had no attention for us at all. My starter arrived along with the veg ordered to go with my main... More

I have read previous reviews about this restaurant and wanted to give my 'two cents' as we have visited recently. Overall - nice food, but check your bill. My boyfriend and I came here whilst staying in Rome on a Sunday evening with not much else open in the area. This restaurant has a nice outdoor seating area which drew... More

Last night, my boyfriend and I went out for dinner on our first night in Rome. This place is very close to our hotel and since we had no idea where to start in terms of Rome's cuisine we tried this out. The food was excellent, I'll give it that. Although the staff didn't try and accommodate the fact that... More

We started off our trip in a beautiful restaurant, but then we came here. The large old waiter was SO incredibly rude and practically threw the menu at us. None of the staff unfortunately spoke a word of English, resulting in 3 out of our 4 meals (they mistook a pepperoni Pizzi for a pepperoni pizza...) being completely wrong. Finally,... More

We went to this restaurant two evenings in a row. We had walked like over Rome and wanted to stay close to the flat we were renting. The pasta was great, the bread fresh on Sunday and stale on Monday. Service from one night to the next was good to terrible and the second night we were charged for a... More

Looking for somewhere to eat we found this restaurant . It says pizzeria but does lots of great pasta dishes. My favourite is lasagne. Spaghetti. Bolognagnsee too. Great wines selection, not too far from colleseum if you don't mind a walk ,just across the road from the Domus sessoriana hotel where we stayed (see my review of that). Eat in or... More

Unfortunately we only found this charming restaurant on our last day but went for lunch and evening meal it was that good. A great choice of Pasta and Pizzas and delicious Desserts. The staff are very friendly and the service was great, wish we had found it at the beginning of our holiday!

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
