I simply don't understand the negative reviews. Lovely food and service, extremely reasonable prices. A little jewel.

The restaurant is a bit off the beaten track at Trastevere district in Rome. We enjoyed local dishes a lot!

If this had been the only restaurant that we experienced during our two weeks in Italy, then I would probably give this place four stars. But after eating in so many outstanding places, from street food to fine dining, the Osteria Numero 6 seemed ordinary in my opinion. The food was good, the wine was good, the service was good,... Went to dinner at Osteria Numero 6 on the recommendation of a friend and we weren't disappointed. The restaurant was welcoming, cozy, and food was delicious. Our group was 6 adults but was comfortable for families as well. We would definitely return.

We found the Osteria Numero 6 by chance whilst walking back from the Garibaldi Statue. Unlike other restaurants in Trastavere it is a quieter location and there are no waiters trying to entice you inside. Being lunchtime we just had Pasta, a big Salad and a dessert, with wine, beer and coffee. Osteria Numero 6 is a family run restaurant... More

This review is part of 7 other reviews in Rome October 2016. The reason is simple. All restaurants were similar in 2 ways. The price level were similar. Between 7-15 euro for antipasta (starter). 10-15 euro for primo (pasta), and 15-25 for secondi (meat/fish). Furthermore all restaurants serves traditional Italian food. So by comparing the reviews you can pick out... More

We had two meals at this family-run restaurant. The rocket, pecorino, pear salad was the best salad I have ever eaten.

Best meal we ate in Rome had to be at this restaurant.... The spinach & ricotta ravioli topped with black truffle shavings. Absolutely delicious. Lovely little restaurant, very friendly staff and chilled atmosphere. We ended up eating here all three days of our trip.

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
