Like other TA contributors, we chose Piperno after a long day of touring and walking around Rome as it is next door to our hotel, Hotel Monte Cenci. We were advised that Piperno was expensive, but found that it was pretty much in line with...More

Came here to try the Roman specialties. One is the fried zucchini flowers and the second is the fried artichokes. Absolutely positively delicious. What a treat. Everyone should try this at least once.

This restaurant is known for its carciofi alla giuda and the artichokes did not disappoint. The restaurant has a lovely outdoor space that books up, and the comfortable interior was also nearly full when we had lunch there on a Sunday. Good wine list and...More

We ate at Piperno because we were staying right next door at the Monte Cenci Hotel. It was a beautiful night and we were seated outdoors in a quiet courtyard – quite a contrast from the more touristy areas nearby. The food was delicious (we...More

Best clams and linguine ever in my life! My three dinner partners all had the carbonara and said it was to die for! You will be delighted with the food, the service and the setting! Absolutely spectacular!!!

Chose Piperno as the highlight of our trip to Rome. What a disappointment, poor and indifferent service, mediocre food and little positive to say. Seems like a place to be seen but we will not be back. Management seems indifferent to what is going on...More

Excellent food, excellent service, romantic indoor and outdoor dining. This restaurant is tucked away so you will have to get very specific directions, take a taxi or google map your way there, but it is definitely worth the effort. I took my daughter and 2...More

We always enjoy dinner at Piperno and find it to be a consistent, old-school establishment serving well-done classics in a somewhat formal environment. Our most recent dinner in June was a 9pm seating, indoors, and the room was full with a mix of well-dressed diners...More

I went to their website for booking, which said the availability would be confirmed as soon as possible - this "as soon as possible" clearly meant more than six months. All I've got for response was "La tua richiesta è stata cancellata da Ristorante Piperno"...More

Rome restaurants usually close one day a week, and that day is at their discretion. Piperno is closed on Mondays.

Hi Barb S. As other Trip Advisors have suggested, its a fair distance/walk from St. Peters and i would personally take a taxi. Re the language...we had absolutely no trouble in conversing with our waiter.
