We ate here on 3 of the 4 evenings were were in Rome. Very reasonably priced, and food was excellent with a wide selection.

Although this place was very close to the center of hotels in our area, it was quaint, quiet and then food very good. We had the steak, grilled vegetables and gnocchi with some Chianti. The waiter recommended most of it and it was spot on. We will plan to return during our stay.

Just a minute walk away from our hotel, this was ideal for a small group of 4 at dinner. The staff was very friendly, the food arrived quickly and tasted very good (and there was plenty of it!) and altogether we paid about €11 per head for main and soft drink which is very affordable, even for poor students!

Cute underground restaurant close to Roma Termini. Friendly staff, set menu available and good value.

Cute little place with very friendly staff, but the food--though plentiful--tasted like Chef Boyardee. There are lots of places like this. Beware the 15 euro tourist special!

We went for the set tourist menu and chose the gnocchi and the minestrone soup with pasta for starters - both were very tasty. Mains were ok, I had the fish which had an unusual skin on it, my partner had the chicken which he enjoyed accompanied with greens and potatoes. Dessert was the least enjoyable part of the meal,... It's in a great location but the place lacks some atmosphere. The service is good, but not something that you'd get excited about. My wife raved about the pasta dish she had, whereas my veal dish left me totally uninspired to say anything good about it. The price overall did seem to be a bit on the high side for... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
