Great place in the center of Ancona. Small and simple place, with seats outside. We ordered two udon dishes, one with chicken curry. Personally I would have preferred it a little more cooked on the outside, but this is my personal taste. The udon pasta was delicious and also went very well with broccoli, which I usually don't like very much. The boy who welcomed us was very kind and very professional, he explained all the pasta shapes very well. In terms of prices, for being in the centre, we are also below average for this area of the city. In summary, I would go back

The food was brilliant! We had the Udon with chicken curry and soy noodles with beef. Both portions were quite big, very healthy and absolutely tasty! We enjoyed it very much, thank you!

In these times many of us are looking for good takeaway and home delivery restaurants. Wokaway's website promises only fresh and local ingredients. ”We are proud to be able to serve you these typical products of our land, carefully selecting the best qualities." The menu is on their website and you can order online or by phone. We telephoned. The person who answered seemed friendly, though not too interested in answering our questions about the menu, but he did explain the difference between "Noodles" and "Udon". ~ The problem with takeaway is that you are already home when you discover the mistakes... ~ We ordered “NOODLE GAMBERI E VERDURE”. Noodles with shrimp and vegetables. They gave us “Udon", which we did not order. There was supposed shrimp in the dish. We found three small, overcooked and dry shrimp in the entire dish. Still, the udon tasted ok, compared to the blandness of the other dishes, which all tasted the same. Wokaway states that its goal is to create light, healthy dishes that preserve and emphasize the natural flavors of fresh ingredients, with a burst of satifying flavors. That's a great idea, but you have to know what you are doing. Everything tasted mildly of soy sauce with a hint of sourness and a slight bitterness that probably came from the cabbage, which made up about 80% of the “vegetables” in the dishes, which were all irregularly and unevenly cut for wok cooking. The RISO CON VERDURE - rice with vegetables - turned out to be a type of brown rice. Perhaps an indistinct basmati. Nothing wrong with brown rice, of course, but an explanation either on the menu or by the person on the phone would have been nice. Also no mention was made of the black beans that we found in the rice. Again, we would have appreciated being given a choice. The cabbage and the two pieces of squash in the rice were in large, clumsy chunks. Any remaining vegetable was so tiny that it was overcooked, as were the bits of meat in another dish we ordered. On the positive side, the ingredients did seem fresh, not frozen or tinned, and they serve artisan Italian beers. But the worst part of the meal was the frying oil. It isn’t fair to boast about cooking “best quality” local ingredients with great respect, and then fry in very bad tasting oil. The Olive Ascolane (a typical dish that we know very well here in Le Marche) were strange, anyway. The olives were so soft that we couldn't detect them and the stuffing was indefinite. The chicken "Tempura" was not tempura at all. The dry chicken breast pieces were coated in bread crumbs. If they were supposed to be panko crumbs, they weren't any good, but in any case, breading rather than batter could possibly pass for tonkatsu or furai, not tempura. But no matter, because both dishes tasted terribly, horribly “off” because of the lousy frying oil. We might have given Wokaway a second chance, were it not for that oil. We are sorry to say that are walking away from Wokaway.

Good place for a quick dinner late in the evening

This is a very informal food stall with a couple of tables and chairs outdoors, more of a take-away than a restaurant. But the staff are really cool and kind and really try to make their guests happy! The dishes are tasty too and the good thing is that they are open in the later evening too.
