The food was not tasty at all and certainly below average. In addition, it was too pricey and also served in small quantity! The Trattoria might be "historical" but it is not reflected in the food nor could I find a nice atmosphere or anything special at this place.

Stumbled across this place as we were walking around Bologna, and found a hidden treasure! Truly felt like you were wallking into your Nonna's house, from the decor, the food, the service, and we even met Anna Maria herself! Absolutely wonderful! Can't wait to eat her taglitelle with ragu another time!

Despite having heard so many people rave about this place we were disappointed. We both had ragu. Portions seemed small for €14 per meal. Not the tastiest - you can eat much better elsewhere for a lot less. Staff not the friendliest. Very average.

Our first visit to Anna Maria in 2013 was one of the better meals we had in Bologna. Nothing fancy, no “foams”, deconstructed lasagne, or traditional cooking with “a twist” - just honest to goodness Bolognese cooking. As we walked from the art gallery, on a cold and damp December day, I was genuinely salivating at the thought of lunch.... More

This restaurant was recommended by a friend who lived in Bologna. I ate 'tortellini in brodo' at every restaurant I visited during my stay and these were full of flavour. My partner ordered the tagliatelle al ragu, and enjoyed the sauce and slightly al dente pasta. The staff were very nice. The bread was warm and delicious.

Our Taxi driver recommended this eatery and on arrival we visited to find it was fully booked. Therefore we reserved a table for 6 for Sunday evening. Whilst I couldn't complain about the foods quality it was rather unimaginative and pricey. The service was uncomfortably quick. There are so many wondeful restaurants in the city, this is not one of them... More

Visited with my wife without a reservation and managed to get a table with no real problem. It was a busy Saturday lunchtime. I had read a review on this place via a local expats blog and it did not disappoint. I had the tortellini with broth which was fantastic and my wife had the tortellini stuffed with cheese. Also... While working in Italy we visited Bologna for the first time and our sponsors took us to Trattoria Anna Maria for a relaxing evening of good food and great wine.

Very popular with locals and you can see why. Great food especially the Tortolini. Good wine. Try it - it's real Italy

The title of this review describes two contrasting experiences at the same restaurant. On one day we enjoyed a delicious lunch, where the helpful waitress allowed us to have two smaller portions as we could not decide which pasta dish to try as both sounded delicious. Delicious they were indeed, so delicious in fact, we decided to book an evening... More
