I'm glad we didn't eat here until our second to last night in Bologna, otherwise we would have eaten there every night and missed other great places. Go for the typical bolognese dishes.

I think we probably bagged the last table at this restaurant on a quiet Wednesday evening, it was so full they were refusing people. The waitress was fabulous, very knowledgeable and friendly. Good Bolognese food, although the portions are too big and it was a bit too salty for our liking and too speedy (we arrived at 7.30 pm and... More

Definitely try this restaurant. A little out of the centre but well worth the walk. Food was stunning. Staff very friendly. Great value. Book a table, it's a small family restaurant.

We'd eaten here for lunch three years ago and wanted to see if it was as good as we remembered - it was! We stuck with the classic pasta dishes and were lucky enough to get mascarpone for dessert! Reservations highly recommended.

It is a small restaurant and always busy so i strongly recommend to make a reservation before going. As a starter we ordered Parma ham with goat cheese and caprino cheese in a creamy sauce with porcini. Both were delicious . Our wine was the restaurant owners' own product named Conde. We ordered a sangiovese merlot riserva which was a... More

We chose this restaurant for our first night dinner on our Bologna weekend as it was a very short walk from our hotel (San Mamola). We made an excellent choice! Al Sangiovese is a restaurant serving traditional Bologna menu all served with a smile from the hosts. We enjoyed the mixed starter, followed by the scallopino with asparagus and fillet... More

I have been to Italy more times than I can remember and have been taken to several wonderful restaurants by the locals. This one was off the charts!! Genuine Italian food, great taste and great wines recommended by the hosts. Unforgettable!! Almost rolled back to the hotel.

Wonderful place to eat, off the beaten track a bit but only a 5 min walk from inner town. Hubbie had for once booked this! It was a lovely restaurant with a traditional feel to it...I had the lasagne starter which was fantastic, hubbie had the mushrooms and goat's cheese which he said was also good. I went on to... Went here twice during our time and both times it was sold out so be sure to book. Food is top class and the place has a relaxed atmosphere with it being family owned/run. The risotto was probably the best Ive ever tasted, so rich and flavorsome. Great local restaurant and a must visit for anyone in Bologna.
