A real traditional Pizzeria. When I was living in Italy I had my '4stagioni' pizza at Grottino weekly. Simply great, good ingredients and one one of the best 'dough' ever: smooth, not too salty, extremely tasty and 'light for digestion' thanks to 'lievito madre'. Father and Son, the pizza makers are simply great and 'genuine'. Highly recommended if you are... More

This place is so self-effacing that we almost walked on by but I'm very glad we didn't. The decor is basic but the chef is right there in front of you making pizzas. The restaurant is clearly popular with locals who were coming and going for takeaways or sit-down meals, and overall there was quite a warm and cheerful atmosphere.... More

Seems like its ran by a Lady a Chef by wood oven and a Chef in kitchen. The ordering took ages, the food took even longer. Salad was only iceberg lettuce and carrot. Food was average. The popular place down the road was booked so we walked around and found this place. Its only a local trattoria and i enjoyed... More

I ate here because it was raining and the place I wanted was full. The pizza, the service, and the atmosphere were all mediocre at best. I would not eat here again.

We found this place after walking by Bologna's narrow streets. We were spending our last minutes before catch the train and we thought it was a suitable place. Their pizza is OK but, I think it's a bit expensive. Take note that they include a special tax to seat in their place (2 euros per person). However, their ristreto it's... More

The Grottino is just off the via Matteotti, the main road heading north from the railway station. It is tucked down a side street close to the Hotel Guercino. It is family run and clearly popular with the locals. I had a main meat course which was well cooked and delicious foloowed by almost the best tiramisu I have tasted.... More

Just around the corner from Il Guercino Hotel, this place was amazing. My only regret was not being able to try the Pizza(which looked great) in addition to the pasta. This place was simple & authentic and by far one of the BEST meals I have had in all of Italy, period. It was not an overpriced tourist trap. Its... More
